You're making me doubt myself
This feeling I know so well
Visions of naked greed
Are visions I just don't need

Far deep, phantom seeking, I can see
The nude that broke my heart
The nude that broke my heart
Far from living, I can see
The nude that broke my heart
The nude that broke my heart

The texture of moistened skin
All over this skin I've been
Skin that's been angel stretched
No muscle or excess flesh

Far deep, phantom seeking, I can see
The nude that broke my heart
The nude that broke my heart
Far from living, I can see
The nude that broke my heart
The nude that broke my heart

You're making me doubt myself
This feeling I know so well
Feeling of naked lust
This feeling I love so much

Far deep, phantom seeking oh you are
The nude that broke my heart
The nude that broke my heart
Phantom breathing oh you are
The nude that broke my heart
The nude that broke my heart

Upon the wall, the life is drawn
The love is lost, the truth will fall
The sinking ship, the sinking soul
The final fear
The picture on the wall

Amazing song. it's about the singer's heart breaking as he sees perfection in a nude painting, and realizes that he could never live up to, or be worthy of that kind of flawlessness.

the song seems to be about a hook-up; the picture of the woman who he saw perfection in. he's reminiscent of how beautiful she was and how he wanted more than lust and how she broke his heart. how he was scared of a picture being the end of his future with her.

i basically agree with the previous interpretation. i think its about seeing perfection in a work of art or imaginary person (like a dream girl in one's own mind) and being so in love with this concept of perfection that nothing else will do, reality is ever good enough, but the fantasy is something which can never be achieved. and the intense longing for this non-existent thing is crushing.

No, no, no... He isn't talking about a work of art... He is talking about a woman who he is obsessed with, who happens to be pursuing another "phantom" man, meaning, unknown man. He sees the writing on the wall, meaning her behavior, her rejection of him, and possibly even sees her going off in the night to be with him, but doesn't know who he is, so he is called a phantom in the song. Basically this is a song about a guy who is obsessed with a woman who is beautiful, who he once had a sexual relationship with, who has now discarded him for another unknown man. He is also stalking her both literally, and mentally in his mind. Read the lyrics again. It's crystal clear. This also applies to anyone today who might be referencing fb wall of an ex. Seeing picture on the wall. As he aptly states. So this song, while written years ago, can take on a more modern meaning as it can also apply to a man who is fb stalking his ex lover. There ya go...

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
