"And after all the feelings go, I see I still love you so,
I just thought I'd let you know now that everything's okay,
And you are on your way back, back to where you came,"
She said with pain in her heart, it was there from the start.
Now I know why everything turns grey, but it's our own world we paint
And I want the brightest, I want flourescence every day and night
For the rest of my life, open your eyes, won't you?
Can't you see you're so beautiful to me?
Don't look back as a matter of fact there's
A ten foot Jack wants to break your back
You stole his girl, you wrecked his world
Now it's your your head that he's gonna twirl
He won't think once, he won't think twice
Cause he knows just what he's gonna do tonight
He will commit a crime, a crime of love
And he won't be happy till he sees your blood
Looking back on when you left me
Standing in the rain
Don't look back as a matter of fact there's
A son of a bitch and he's digging a ditch
For you my friend, my lucky one
So grab your things it's time to run to the other side
Where love takes pride, and your souls
The only thing that stays alive
Ma maooba goo goo ga ga
Hey! Quit talkin that terminal jive!
Looking back on when I left you...
Crying in pain
Don't look back...[1st verse]
Looking back on when you left me
Standing in the rain, incredible pain
I understand. You have to be your own person. Well that's ok with me.
Hurts, Hurts, Hurts, Like a like a motherfucker
Love. it hurts. it kills. Like a sonofabitch.
That feeling. It gets me. Way down there. inside me We're nothing, Deep down there. Where only bad things grow

General CommentThe meaning of this song is pretty obvious.

I usually hate when people post without describing their opinion about the meaning of the song. Hell, I'll do it anyway.

You just have to see the live video, from Brixton Academy, UK, 27 Nov 1992. Mike Patton reek of the emotions he's singing about, it's so amazing!

General CommentThe lyrics skipped the spoken part at the beginning:
You look beautiful today where are you going?
Oh Really? Don't come back. Stay out! (bitch)
Dear Esther, farewell, to you, bitch.
(I was only kidding) Come back! I didn't mean it! (I was only kidding)
(dear esther) I said I was only kidding, wait a minute (only kidding) hey, Hey come back! I didn't mean it!

So mebbe she was already dressed up and on her way to see this other guy and Chuck thinks she's leaving because of what he said?
You gotta love Chuck's vocals in this song tho. No matter how bad you sing, you're never farther off key than Chuck, so sing right along at the top of your lungs!

General CommentThis is my favorite song on the album, and yes, I'm aware that these are Mosley's worst vocals on the cd. But it's addicting! I guess I favor energy over talent (however, seeing how Patton has both, he's clearly the better lead.) Then again, for an energetic guy, he DID fall asleep on stage...

It's simple, Mosley's gonna kill his ex's man.

Jim Martin kicks some serious ass on guitar here.

General CommentPatton's live version of this sucks. Why ? He didn't write it. It's just not believable with him singing it.

Who's a better vocalist is irrelevant.

    Moseley's original is infinitely better.

General CommentI learned the intro on guitar by accident one day. It's just an open E major played as an arpeggio for the first part the second part is a little harder played on the higher strings.
