"Rock And Roll Is Dead" as written by and Lenny Albert Kravitz....
You think you're on top of the world
But you know it's really over
Runnin' round with diamond rings
And coke spoons that are overflowin'

Rock an Roll is dead
But all the money in the world
Can't buy you from the place you're going to

Rock an Roll is dead
Rock an Roll is dead
Rock an Roll is dead

You can't even sing or play an instrument
So you just scream instead
You're living for an image
So you got five hundred women in your bed

Rock an Roll is dead
But it's real hard to be yourself
When you're living with those demons
In your head

Rock an Roll is dead
Rock an Roll is dead
Rock an Roll is dead

Rock an Roll is dead
Rock an Roll is dead
Rock an Roll is dead

Rock an Roll is dead
Rock an Roll is dead

General CommentThis was written around 1992 I believe. He's commenting on the direction that rock music was taking at this time. He is remarking about how bands just seem to live for the style and the high life but don't actually write anything good. Those are the bands that usually are forgotten about in a few years.

Well I don't think rock and roll is dead but it has changed. I don't 100% agree with him but this seems to be what he thinks in this song. And I think Lenny also is quite concerned about his image also.
