"This Is Radio Clash" as written by Joe Strummer, Mick Jones, Paul Simonon and Topper Headon....
This is Radio Clash
Stealing all transmissions
Beaming from the mountaintop
Using aural ammunition

With extreme prejudice
On a terminator mission
This is Radio Clash
Consider your position

Step it up, get down low

Breaking news flash
Assassination
The whole country has been shot

Evil will abate
In Revelation
In the Ministry of Whitewash

Wait, wait
Don't switch off the death
Yes, we have the latest score
(????) Islanders: 101 and Home Yard: 44

This is Radio Clash
And we count your thoughts
When lightning splits the sky in half
Sharper than a sword

And in the thundercloud
You see another cloud
Bones as big as sticks
Even angels were in hell on the morning of the sixth

Like buckets of venom in (????)
They've got a master plan
Human wars over there
And we'll come and knock 'em down

And he reaches the other side first
Gets a job in the dirty old town
And he reaches the other side first
Gets a job in the dirty old town

This is not free
This is not free Europe
No, no, no, no, no
Nor an armed force network

This is Radio Clash
Stealing all transmission
Beaming from the mountaintop
Aural ammunition

A riggy diggy dig dang dang

This is Radio Clash
Stealing information
By his will as a (???)
Use careful confirmation

Bribery, extortion
Legal legislation
Security is life indeed
Accept no other explanation

This is Radio Clash
On pirate satellite
Orbiting your living room
Everybody hold on tight

General CommentBasically, he is trying to wake people up to tell them the truth about "the man". The "Radio Clash" is informing all about the ills of the planet and how we need to act.

    General CommentBrilliant!

Ever see the video for this tune filmed with some of the footage from when they were at Bonds in NYC? I was at one of the concerts in 1981 when I was a sphmore in High School. They oversold the tickets and there was complete mayhem leading up to the original shows due to fire codes, etc.

My folks freaked and wouldn't let me go when they saw what was going on on the news. I said I was going to sleep at a friends house and wouldn't bother getting involved with the mess at the theater (yeah right...) and went anyway and got other tickets to added show dates. There was NO WAY I was missing The Clash. (The band added extra shows to accomodate all the people who would have been screwed anyway. It was awesome). Still, it was bedlam, but it was WORTH it!

When people say The Clash are the only band that matters, they KNOW what they are talking about!

General Commentthis some funky white boy shit...amazing how far this sounds from earlier material, yet somehow it's still The Clash.
    The first "intelligent dance" song?
I once stopped my car in the middle of the street, turned up the stereo and street-danced with a friend to this.
