This is a hauntingly beautiful song about introspection, specifically about looking back at a relationship that started bad and ended so poorly, that the narrator wants to go back to the very beginning and tell himself to not even travel down that road. I believe that the relationship started poorly because of the lines:
"Take me back to the night we met:When the night was full of terrors: And your eyes were filled with tears: When you had not touched me yet"
So, the first night was not a great start, but the narrator pursued the relationship and eventually both overcame the rough start to fall in love with each other:
"I had all and then most of you"
Like many relationships that turn sour, it was not a quick decline, but a gradual one where the narrator and their partner fall out of love and gradually grow apart
"Some and now none of you"
Losing someone who was once everything in your world, who you could confide in, tell your secrets to, share all the most intimate parts of your life, to being strangers with that person is probably one of the most painful experiences a person can go through. So Painful, the narrator wants to go back in time and tell himself to not even pursue the relationship.
This was the perfect song for "13 Reasons Why"
Ladies and gentlemen!
Introducing the Chocolate Starfish
And the Hotdog Flavored Water
Bring it on
Get the fuck up
Yeah, check, one, two
Listen up, listen up
Here we go (here we go)
It's a fucked up world and a fucked up place
Everybody's judged by their fucked up face
Fucked up dreams, fucked up life
A fucked up kid with a fucked up knife
Fucked up moms and fucked up dads
It's a fucked up cop with a fucked up badge
Fucked up job with fucked up pay
And a fucked up boss, this is a fucked up pay
Fucked up press wit fucked up lies
While Lethal's in the back with the fucked up eyes
Hey (it's on)
Everybody knows it's on
Hey (it's on)
Everybody knows it's on
Ain't it a shame that you can't say "Fuck"
Fuck's just a word and it's all fucked up
Like a fucked up punk with a fucked up mouth
A nine inch nail, I'll get knocked the fuck out
Fucked up AIDS from fucked up sex
Fake-ass titties on a fucked up chest
We're all fucked up, so what you wanna do?
We fucked up me and fucked up you
You wanna fuck me like an animal?
You'd like to burn me on the inside?
You like to think that I'm a perfect drug?
Just know that nothin' you do will bring you closer to me
Ain't life a bitch?
A fucked up bitch
A fucked up soul with a fucked up stitch
A fucked up head
Is a fucked up shame
Swinging on my nuts
Is a fucked up game
Jealousy filling up a fucked up mind
It's real fucked up
Like a fucked up crime
If I say "Fuck" two more times
That's forty six "Fucks" in this fucked up rhyme
Hey (it's on)
Everybody knows it's on
Hey (it's on)
Everybody knows it's on
You wanna fuck me like an animal?
You'd like to burn me on the inside?
You like to think that I'm a perfect drug?
Just know that nothin' you do will bring you closer to me
Hoo-haa, haaw
Listen up baby
You can't bring me (bring me) down
I don't think so, I don't want some
You better check your (check it) self
Before you wreck yourself
Kiss my starfish, my chocolate starfish punk
Kiss my starfish, my chocolate starfish
You wanna fuck me like an animal?
You wanna burn me on the inside?
You like to think that I'm a perfect drug?
Just know that nothin' you do will bring you closer to me

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday".
I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.
Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it.
“I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
Wow you guys are really ignorant pieces of trash. you claim Fred Durst is the reason society is crumbling? It's closed-minded fucks like you that are ruining society, a couple songs by a pissed of nu-metal artist won't affect society at all, conratulations on being complete fucking morons. Fred Durst, undeniably has talent or he would not be on the market in the first place. And to the guy who said nobody smart listens to Limp Bizkit: Fuck you, I have an I.Q. of 145. I love the Bizkit. You people constantly flaming Fred durst are just adding fuel to the fire, this is what he wants, he wants to be controversial and make money, when you focus on him and bring attention to him, it brings him publicity, and publicity = money. Stop being morons and think before you post something. This is directed to those who dissed the bizkit. Fuck you, you ignorant closed-minded pieces of trash... I like NIN too, and Fred Durst is a much larger man and has much more brute strength than Reznor could ever have, he's scrawny as fuck last time I saw him... Well there's my rant...
i dont think he says fuck enough
hahaha that's fuckin hilarious!
i think you're so fucking right!!
So fucking hilarious! I fucking agree to the fucking fullest!
A lot of these lyrics are semi-taken from NIN's "Closer", most likely as some attempt at insulting Trent Reznor. Try all you want to insult Trent, Freddy, but he shits more talent than you could ever hope to attain.
@OmegaCM You do know Trent and Fred are close friends, right?<br />
Mosquitogod, chill the fuck out. The pitiful race known as humanity is not just brought about from ass-kickin' lyricists who say fuck 46 times. It comes from assholes like you not thinking that people should be able to say whatever the fuck is on their minds. And about the similarity between this song and Nine Inch Nail's Closer, of course it is. That's why he did the damn song in the first place. What do you think the lines "Like a fucked up punk, with a fucked up mouth, a nine ninch nail, I'll get knocked the fuck out" mean. He's making fun of Trent Reznor, so the fuck what. Why does it matter? People dog on each other all of the time. Eminem insults everybody, and he still maintains relationships with some of them (some being the key word in that sentence). In Korn's song All In The Family on the Follow the Leader album, Jonathan Davis and Fred Durst dis the other until they are fucking each other in the ass. So chill out. It's all in fun.
hell yeah, music is about fun and sayin what u want. freedom of fucking speech. keep it real!
Here's a new song by The O-to-the-Pin-to-the-ion-to-the-Head...

See, see, I can do it too...Fred Durst can't touch me with a fifty-foot pole...How do like them apples?
By the way, thank you for your time and attention.
Well, thing song is based on a grave misunderstanding... Durst is pissed off by how Reznor smashed a sculpure resembling Freds face in the video for "starfuckers Inc." and assumed that the song was about him only... What he did no realize (or was too stupid to realize as usual) is that the song is about rock stars in general. Reznor destroys a sculpture of himself as well and dumps a insert-favourite-mainstream-ballad-singer-here into a tank filled with toxic goo. He also throws CD's from Manson into a toilet. The song "stafuckers Inc" is as much self-ironic as it is a social commentary on the music industry today as we get to see Reznor standing in the desert and having a picture of hollywood drop down behind him. Manson, for example, understood this and acctually liked it; he even helped directing the video for the song as he too felt he had been exposed to this sort of ridicolous personal distortion. Now Durst ends up involentarily supporting everything thats bad in todays record industry and this song literally self-destructs because of its lack of understanding. Way to go durst! F-ing genious songwriter you are you self-obsessed child-in-a-grownups-body.
by the way, this song makes me hungry lol
Critically acclaimed and one of Limp Bizkit's most adored songs, "Hot Dog", still has stood the testament of time as one of the most meaningful meditations of the human soul in the history of written word. Alongside Shakespeare, Milton, and the Bible, Fred Durst challenges our perspective on life and human interaction with his lyrics, "We're all fucked up So whatcha wanna do? We fucked up me And fucked up you"
I believe it was Pitchfork that called these "Groundbreaking lyrics that cut to the core of the listener. All hail the Chocolate Starfish!"
Few know that Fred Durst was in a very special period in his life when he wrote this. After returning home from his three year journey across Africa and India, he cited a very profound moment when he had when he swam across The Black Sea(The Hot Dog Flavored Water). In his experience he understood the true nature of man and God, and he spoke truly of our meaning in this life when he sung "Hooo Haaa Haaaw! Listen up baby You.. can't.. bring.. me.. (bring me).. down"
Few will ever come close to this apex of literature and only some will be able to comprehend it's full meaning. In conclusion, Mr. Durst stands above ordinary "fuckers" like you and me because he has a vision, something we cannot see, but we must blindly follow him as he travels on this musical adventure. When Paul McCartney sat on the piano to write "Hey Jude" (one of the most overrated songs of all time), his intentions were no greater than to create a pleasant pop song to enjoy on a summer afternoon. However, when Mr. Durst literally humped the camera in the music video for "Take A Look Around" (Mission Impossible 2), his intentions were not for money or enjoyment (though there was much of both). He aspired not only to create glorious art, but to move us, to make us feel as if the whole world were crumbling beneath us, and only by "getting the fuck up" could we ever swing on the nuts of Fred Durst. And we did.
Farewell. God Bless. And do it all for The Nookie.
Im so sick of finding contradictions in Fred Durst. I just believe that its people like him who make men the backwards hat wearing, shit talking, woman beating, stuff breaking, pieces of shit that make up this pitiful race that for some reason we still consider human.
I like the guitar in the song
