PASSING THROUGH THESE BLURRED CROWDS
FAST-PACED WORLD WITHOUT SOUND
TOO BUSY WITH THEIR PROFOUND DAYS
TO SEE THE RIGHT THAT'S FOUND ME

PITY THE SHALLOW, SHUT OUT WHAT'S HOLLOW
BECAUSE DEPTH NEVER FELT SO AMAZING

BECAUSE YOU CAN'T SEE THROUGH MY EYES
I WON'T BREAK MY ONLY TIES
TO WHAT'S RIGHT
WHAT ME MAKES FEEL THAT I'M ALIVE

I'M LOST IN THESE SKIES
HAVE REASONS TO TRY
NEVER WANT TO BACK TRACK
BECAUSE NOW I'M ALIVE

PITY THE SHALLOW, SHUT OUT WHAT'S HOLLOW
BECAUSE DEPTH NEVER FELT SO AMAZING

I CAN'T PAINT THIS PICTURE FOR YOU
YOU'LL NEVER SEE IN MY SHADE OF BLUE

WHEN YOU'RE BLIND, COLORS ARE MEANINGLESS
AND THAT'S FINE, FOR YOU.

General Commentthis is a deep song about depth. stay with me now. the artist is talking about a world in which we live where everything, everyone is too busy with their own lives to actually slow down and think about life and the meaning of many things. as the artist observes this shallow aspect of the world...he feels pity for those who are shallow because they do not know what they are missing out on. He also states in the song that because of this meaning in my life...i have reason to try. there is purpose in what im doing. not just blind and following the crowd. This in turn makes him Alive, as he states. I love the line "i can't paint this picture for you, you'll never see in my shade of blue"...thats beautiful. it means that words could not justify the meaning in his life, that he could never explain it to someone else. they would hvae to experience meaning/ depth for themselves.
