Feel
Sick after every meal
I'd say
'Cos I know
The life from your burning wheel
Won't wane
Sleep
I sleep every day
Wipe the cobwebs away
I need to be loved
Christ
I'm out of my mind
I need to be loved
I need to be loved
As I turn to you and I say
Thank goodness for the good souls
That make life better
As I turn to you and I say
If it wasn't for the good souls
Life would not matter
Dive straight in on your girlfriend
Making her feel like there's going to be a war
Dive straight in at the deep end
Making you feel like there's going to be a war
As I turn to you and I say
Thank goodness for the good souls
That make life better
As I turn to you and I say
If it wasn't for the good souls
Life would not matter
One good day of the week
And I'll be up again
One good day of the week
I'll be higher than the government
As I turn to you and I say
Thank goodness for the good souls
That make life better
As I turn to you and I say
If you're messing with a good heart
You've got to take what's due

Another good StarSailor song. I love the sound of this band. I think they're kind of like a mix of Saves the Day and Yellowcard. Anyway.. I like this song because it gives a good meaning, that goodness does help into making life better.

A mix of Saves the Day and Yellowcard? All I can say is what are you talking about? Have you listened to any of the three bands involved? I am utterly confused. As for this song, I thorougly enjoy it. Good luck, stay gold.

who the hell says this sounds anything like saves the day? saves the day is one helluva punk band. starsailor is as far from punk as garth brooks. this is a good song, but sounds ABSOLUTELY nothing like saves the day, or yellowcard for that matter.

I have a feeling that RagingAnne is only listening to Saves the Day's single, Freakish or something, the light sound, its far from their punk sound, light ska almost. Back to this song, this song is the best feel-good song I have ever heard in my life. I absolutly love the cd, and suggest to anybody who is such a loser and has not bought it yet, to go out and spend the next to nothing for it!

Lovely song...it creates such a mellow and calm atmoshpere. It's very simple, yet very touching, I've loved it since the first time I watched the video very very late at night (around 2001 I guess) cause MTV wouldn't play this kind of music at daytime -it wasn't "cool" enough. Now they don't even play it at night anymore :(

...getting back to the lyrics... I take this song to be someone who is in a depressed state, for whatever reason, could be sick, who sees some hope because of the people that love him.

I think they sound like a mid-late 80s Echo and the Bunnymen!

    great mellow song.

regarding starsailor's sound, some have labeled them "warmplay", obviously insinuating their sound is similar to coldplay.

i don't know if i agree with that 100%, but i can see a resemblance. both bands are superb.

Holiday
Bee Gees
@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

No Surprises
Radiohead
Same ideas expressed in Fitter, Happier are expressed in this song. We're told to strive for some sort of ideal life, which includes getting a good job, being kind to everyone, finding a partner, getting married, having a couple kids, living in a quiet neighborhood in a nice big house, etc. But in Fitter, Happier the narrator(?) realizes that it's incredibly robotic to live this life. People are being used by those in power "like a pig in a cage on antibiotics"--being pacified with things like new phones and cool gadgets and houses while being sucked dry. On No Surprises, the narrator is realizing how this life is killing him slowly. In the video, his helmet is slowly filling up with water, drowning him. But he's so complacent with it. This is a good summary of the song. This boring, "perfect" life foisted upon us by some higher powers (not spiritual, but political, economic, etc. politicians and businessmen, perhaps) is not the way to live. But there is seemingly no way out but death. He'd rather die peacefully right now than live in this cage. While our lives are often shielded, we're in our own protective bubbles, or protective helmets like the one Thom wears, if we look a little harder we can see all the corruption, lies, manipulation, etc. that is going on in the world, often run by huge yet nearly invisible organizations, corporations, and 'leaders'. It's a very hopeless song because it reflects real life.

Amazing
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran tells a story of unsuccessfully trying to feel “Amazing.” This track is about the being weighed down by emotional stress despite valiant attempts to find some positivity in the situation. This track was written by Ed Sheeran from the perspective of his friend. From the track, we see this person fall deeper into the negative thoughts and slide further down the path of mental torment with every lyric.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
