"Soft Things" as written by and Mark Allen/casale Mothersbaugh....
Soft things
You want soft things
You need soft things
You'll get soft things
You register a motion
You get a helpful hint
There's a certain way it shivers when she shakes
Her mind seemed so chaotic
Her posture was erotic
And her voice was exotic
I acted so neurotic
I thought it idiotic
Her dance was so technotic
She became hypnotic
And now I'm calling out for soft things
Something soft when times get hard
And now I'm calling out for soft things
When something calls you you'll know what to do
You find a longer wavelength
You hear a deeper note
It's a buried treasure that she doesn't hide

My InterpretationThis is one of those songs that has multiple meanings on several levels.
On one level, it's about how he sees a girl dancing and thinks she's beautiful and soft. The singer wants to get with her, as she's arousing him. On another level, it's about wanting something the singer knows deep down inside he'll never get. Looking at it this way, the singer is watching some erotic dancer teasing as she dances, and knows deep down she'll never really get with him no matter how much he tries.

General Commentlol, I've always thought it was like the Crying Game. The woman is actually a man.

    -her voice was "exotic"
-he calls OUT for something soft, and it turns out to be hard?
-hear a deeper note (her voice), buried treasure, her penis.

lol. I'm not correct, but I find it more fun to listen to that way.
