Look, you don't know what I'm going through
And I don't know if I could tell you the truth
Coz I just don't wanna scare you
But here me out… it's tricky j
Yo
My breathing is shallow, and the air is too thin
The voices are getting louder, I needa escape all of this
I just wanted to fit in, to be cool like the rest
But everywhere I go, people judge me instead
I'm still getting over shit with my ex- best friend
But I'm feeling like this may just be the fucking end
No, I can't fight off this pain, it's too much to cope
Yo, I'm out of the game, I'll pull my head in a rope
Coz the blood from the cuts it just isn't enough
The blade of the knife, is still keeping me alive
But in these words that I write, I'm giving up this fight
Coz every day is always like, experiencing a roller-coaster ride
Upside down, around and around
Going so fast and never slowing down
But now I'm at the end, the end of the line
Yeah, this is the end, the end of time
No, you don't know, how much I've cried
No, you don't know, I've told some lies
No, you don't know, I've given up the fight
Yo, you don't know, I'm ready to die
Yo,
Why does life gotta be this hard?
These thoughts in my head, they're tearing me apart
The only thing I've learned is to suffer in silence
Or get lost in the music coz music is timeless
No, no one wants to see or hear me when I'm depressed
They'd rather me fake a smile and pretend that I'm blessed
Well, that's bullshit, coz I'm so fucking upset
I'm dead to you, there is no heart inside my chest
Yeah, it's game over, I can't do this anymore
I give up but I'm scared coz I'm broken and torn
I'm slitting my wrists deeper than I've ever done before
Suddenly the pain stops, and I fall onto the floor
My visions blurry I feel nothing I'm just a dead corpse
Nah, this is only just another dream
I wake up I'm screaming, the pain it's still inside of me
No, you don't know, how much I've cried
No, you don't know, I've told some lies
No, you don't know, I've given up the fight
Yo, you don't know, I'm ready to die
No, you don't know, I'm ready to die
No, you don't know I've already given up the fight
No, you don't know that this is my goodbye
Yeah, it's time to end my life
Yeah, no matter how much I cry
It don't matter how much I write
I still feel like I, I just wanna die
And I pretend that I'm fine
Yes, I tell you these lies
Coz I'm changing inside, you don't know
I don't know who I am, am I hiding in disguise?
Is this real? or am, am I still losing my mind?
Am I losing my mind? Am I losing my mind?
No, you don't know
Yeah, you still don't know, what it is I'm going through
And you will never know

ahahahahaha, stentorian is amazing. You don't want to mess with me, motherfucker, BASICALLY! Really, basically, what I'm trying to say, is, basically...

Looking at the lyrics, I guess it's about a kind of really utilitarian relationship where she gets used by someone but she's using them just as much and they both know it.

Light Up The Sky
Van Halen
The song lyrics were written by the band Van Halen, as they were asked to write a song for the 1979 movie "Over the Edge" starring Matt Dillon. The movie (and the lyrics, although more obliquely) are about bored, rebellious youth with nothing better to do than get into trouble. If you see the movie, these lyrics will make more sense. It's a great movie if you grew up in the 70s/80s you'll definitely remember some of these characters from your own life. Fun fact, after writing the song, Van Halen decided not to let the movie use it.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."
