"Last Night" as written by and Emma Victoria Jane Anderson....
And even in your darkest hour
The recipe I cook for you
Can release its latent power
And make your body feel brand new

Can't you hear the music play
Being center of what you want
Try to leave the past behind
Memories don't appeal

All the things we said
All the things we did
All the things that passed
Were satisfied

General CommentThere's a cool speech bit at the end which sounds like a dialogue from a movie.
Anyone know what movie or is it the band members just doing it.
Philip: So what, what was he like?
Melissa: We went out of the room, sat on the ... walked into the
bathroom/berth(?)... I don't remember anything else I had to say...
Philip: Well, that's...very well. They always say that. It's very moving.
You're not going to get away with it this time, that's for sure.

Has anyone seen the chinese film Dumplings. These lyrics sound like the exact plot. Creepy movie and amazing song (probably unrelated).

My InterpretationIn earlier interviews, Emma and Miki sounded rather apologetic about not being able to play instruments, and about using effects to drown out their voices. There was really no need to be so humble. Even their first songs were quite brilliant.

With the song Last Night, Emma finally stands up for herself. With the recipes that she's been cooking for us, she rightfully claims her place among rock's greatest composers and guitarists. The art is not in making the guitar scream, but in making our bodies feel brand new. Emma does that better than most.
