Here we go, I'm hanging out in Camden
Drinking with my girlfriends on a Saturday night
This guy says, "Come and meet my girlfriend"
She's sitting in the corner looking rather uptight
So I say "Hello" and I try to be nice
But I see he's feeling itchy
Trying to play us off each other
"Girls, girls, please don't fight" (you get the picture)

Hey you, the muscles and the long hair
Telling me that women are superior to men
Most guys just don't appreciate this
You just try convincing me you're better than them
So he talks for hours about his sensitive soul
And his favorite subject is sex
I don't even think he really wanted it
But, Christ this guy's too much (I want to tell him)

I'm as human as the next girl
I like a bit of flattery
But I don't need your practiced lines
Your school of charm mentality so
Save your breath for someone else and credit me with something more
When it comes to men like you
I know the score
I've heard it all before

(Here comes the next one)

Blondie was with me for a summer
He flirted like a maniac but I wouldn't bite
I'm weak and he was so persistent
He only had to have me 'cause I put up a fight
Oh God, the boy had such an ego
He liked to talk about himself all day and all night
You think you're such a ladykiller
But you were nothing special 'til you turned out the light

When he's nice to me he's just nice to himself
And he's watching his reflection
I'm a five foot mirror for adoring himself
Here's seven years bad luck (I want to tell him)

When you say you love me you're just flattering your vanity
But I don't need your practiced lines
Your school of charm mentality so
Save your breath for someone else and credit me with something more
When it comes to men like you
I know the score
I've heard it all before

Ooh, you're such a ladykiller
Always on a winner, thinking that you're in there
Oh boy, you're such a ladykiller
Super sexy mister, call it what you will, oh
You think you're such a lady killer
I just bet you're still there, posing in the mirror
Hey girls, he's such a ladykiller
But we know where he's coming from and we know the score

I read an article that said the "muscles and the long hair" guy was Anthony Keidis from RHCP. Makes sense, he always seemed kind of smarmy to me.

This song makes me think of smart girls who don't take sh*t from anyone...Girls who are tough and yet still feminine. This song is a masterpiece and one of my favorites ever!

This song was on NCAA Football 2006. So randomly on there as part of "EA Trax." The song is really catchy though, and despite it feeling out of place in a college football game, I can't deny its awsomeness. Ironic because some would call me a "Ladykiller."

Lush is such an under-rated band, they seriously rocked, well, most of the time... And this song is one of my favs considering it's such a good tune and the lyrics are also grrrl powered and so true. And I read at wikipedia that the "blondie" part of this song was a response to a weezer song. Appearantly she dated the former Weezer bassist for a while which led to some ugly lyrics to a weezer song.

One of the few Lush songs that is perfect for singing along to in the car! The meaning's pretty obvious; it's about jerks with fucked up ideas about women/love that she's met.

Re: Weezer "Question: is 'ladykillers' really about Matt Sharp from weezer/rentals? LushLive: one verse is." eyesore.no/tfdi/keeley/SPINonline.html

    Thank you, Google!

About the things men will say or do to in an attempt to get laid. Not new territory in that sense. But, she's pretty specific: it's about how guys who try to get laid with lines and techniques are just exercising mental masturbation; "when he's nice to me he's just nice to himself".

She turns it around when she says "you were nothing special 'til you turned out the light". Yeah, sometimes women just want to get laid too. They don't get an ego inflation from it, though.

"Hey girls, he's such a ladykiller, but we know where he's coming from and we know the score": women already know the stuff men do to try to get women into bed. It looks like the only only person ladykillers are aiming to impress is themselves.

I thought the Blondie part was about a member of Blondie.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.

Plastic Bag
Ed Sheeran
“Plastic Bag” is a song about searching for an escape from personal problems and hoping to find it in the lively atmosphere of a Saturday night party. Ed Sheeran tells the story of his friend and the myriad of troubles he is going through. Unable to find any solutions, this friend seeks a last resort in a party and the vanity that comes with it. “I overthink and have trouble sleepin’ / All purpose gone and don’t have a reason / And there’s no doctor to stop this bleedin’ / So I left home and jumped in the deep end,” Ed Sheeran sings in verse one. He continues by adding that this person is feeling the weight of having disappointed his father and doesn’t have any friends to rely on in this difficult moment. In the second verse, Ed sings about the role of grief in his friend’s plight and his dwindling faith in prayer. “Saturday night is givin’ me a reason to rely on the strobe lights / The lifeline of a promise in a shot glass, and I’ll take that / If you’re givin’ out love from a plastic bag,” Ed sings on the chorus, as his friend turns to new vices in hopes of feeling better.
