So where were you when one heart became two?
When three words became more than you could chew?
And there's no way we can make amends
When all this comes to its bitter end
Because sewn words untangle with time
Because sewn words untangle with time

These sandcastles that we so carefully built
(The waves crash in)
Washes them all back to sea
(The waves crash in)
Watch them all crumble

So where were you when one heart became two?
When three words became more than you could chew?

These sandcastles that we so carefully built
(The waves crash in)
Washes them all back to sea
(The waves crash in)
Watch them all crumble

This bed
Of nails
I lay to rest

This bed
(This Bed)
This bed of nails
(This bed of nails)
I lay myself
(Myself)
Down to rest
(Down to rest)

This bed
This bed of nails
I lay myself
Down to rest

And like the albatross
I await the wind
To help me soar
Above the clouds
But on this still day
I sit waiting
Patiently
With my memories

And so it
It goes on
Pouring
Pouring down

And so it
It goes on
Pouring
Pouring down

And I watch the earth
Slowly fall apart
Collapse
All around you
With my head
In my hands
I let
My tears run

Because giving in
Was always
Easier
Than
Letting
Than
Letting go

My ruin was losing you
My ruin was losing you
My ruin was losing you
My ruin is...

General CommentThis song, is a masterpeice. One of the greatest songs I've ever heard. I do believe it means that when someone fell in love with someone else, that person didnt love them. And it also points to the fact of somewhat of a breakup. Too bad Skycamefalling broke up, they could've been so great....

General CommentIt's not that they could've been so great, they were and still are great to me. This song is definitely a favorite of mine-- the sandcastles the writer speaks about are extremely fragile and it's inevitable that they'd be brought back to sea no matter how intricately they were built. It's basically a one-way love story, portraying the person he loves as his ruin waiting to happen. This song truly is a masterpiece and what's so beautiful about it is that it's open to interpretation and people could come up with like a million different explanations of this work.
