"Gonna Make You Love Me" as written by and R Adams....
Riot on the streets, the touch beneath the sheets
It's only gonna make me love you more
The cops they got the guns, the night destroys the sun
It's only gonna make me love you more

This here world, well, it was mine to take
Faith can keep you warm, but I'll teach you how to shake
And I'll come to you like a little girl
It's only gonna make me love you more

Moonlight on the beach, sweet amphetamines
It's only gonna make you love me more
Bottles and the cans, the idiots go dance
It's only gonna make me love you more

This here world, well, it was mine to take
Faith can keep you warm, but I'll teach you how to shake
And I'll come to you like a little girl
It's only gonna make me love you more

They say love is hell,
But I've only been laughin' ever since I fell
It's only gonna make me love you more
The Lord'll have his way but I'm just a call away
It's only gonna make you love me more

This old world, well, it was mine to take
Faith can keep you warm, but I'll teach you how to shake
And I'll come to you like a little girl
It's only gonna make me love you more

General CommentThis is the second time Adams mentions amphetamines... he mentions in "Shadowlands" too...

I believe this goes beyond just a "relationship."

Dora probably got it right. It probably has something to do with a girl selling out and doing drugs (sweet amphetamines), getting plastered and dancing in clubs (bottles and the cans; the idiots go dance), and about how it all seems so innocent and fun at first (i'll come to you like a little girl), but once you start, you fall deeper and deeper into that lifestyle (it's only gonna make me love you more).

General CommentI love this song because it gets across the silly, fun, crazy moments of a relationship. "they say love is hell, but i've only been laughin' ever since i fell" not everything has to be so depressing or cliche in love! "i'll teach you how to shake" it's just a fun song... it makes me wanna dance around and definitely picks me up if I've had a bad day...

General CommentDorareever is absolutely right. The lyrics are written from Satan's point of view. "Sympathy For The Devil" it ain't, but it's a good song nonetheless.

General CommentI think he's trying to say that it doesn't matter what bad things he has done or what mistakes he has made its all those things that make him loveable and endearing, and the fact that he has shared all those crazy memories with someone is what actually makes a relationship and makes you love each other more.... just a thought!!

My InterpretationWell I see it like this : he's in a relationship with a girl who's a believer
and all innocent and he shows her the world and all the things he talks about in the song.
All those things are going to make her love him more.
    Very uplifting song! magical

My OpinionYeah it is a truly great fun love song, one of my favorite's and it is pretty different to some of the other stuff on the gold album but he still managed to perfect it, he's a true musical legend
