"Can't Cry Hard Enough" as written by and Victoria Ann Williams....
I'm gonna live my life
Like everyday's the last
Without a simple goodbye
It all goes by so fast
And now that you're gone
I can't cry hard enough

No I can't cry hard enough
For you to hear me now
Can I open my eyes
And see for the first time
I've let go of you like
A child letting go of his kite
There it goes
Up in the sky

There it goes
Beyond the clouds
For no reason why
I can't cry hard enough
No I can't cry hard enough
For you to hear me now
Can I look back in vain
And see you standing there

With all that remains
Its just an empty chair
And now that you're gone
I can't cry hard enough
No I can't cry hard enough
For you to hear me now
There it goes

Up in the sky
There it goes
Beyond the clouds
For no reason why
I can't cry hard enough
No I can't cry hard enough
For you to hear me now

General CommentI recall hearing this song on lots of 9/11 tribute videos... and I recalled hearing this song in my head about a week after my mom passed away. And it really hit me then because I couldn't cry anymore.. I was out of tears by then and my eyes were still red and sore. I think they put this song out in the early 90s but I don't recall hearing it then. Great song. Doesn't try too hard to explain the meaning of loss or the meaning of life or some granduer thought. It's simple and I like it. It focuses on perhaps a single moment/s when you just think of someone or something that is missing and that emptiness you feel at that moment.

General CommentI do recall being 12 in 1992 and hearing this song on the radio and on an episode of 90210 where Dylan's dad died.

General CommentA good friend of mine showed me this song and it meant a lot to her. I have listened to it millions of times since then. To me it means that the person in the song did not get to say a last goodbye or anything. Now they cannot cry hard enough for the person who passed away to hear them.
