Still wandering
Keeping my sanity
But they won't let me dream to live or live to dream
I'm still envisioning I'm singing to herd of thousands
Soul searching for the few things that will make life all right
Pointless persecution, interrogate the hype
Pretending I'm respecting who I secretly fight
One to the right
Push me to the side
Two minutes to decide what I'm say tonight
One to the right
Push me to the side
Two minutes to decide what I'm going to do with my life
Replacing ideals that would break trust down
I'm the king of apathy don't care to wear your crown
Brain children , the lemming, they suffocate my rise
Standing on hilltops, smiling, watching me breakdown'
Cutting through the fabrics of this physical relationship
The understanding was the part they decided to skip
They have the same eyes but they see things a little differently
Some blind themselves and some open their eyes to the world you see
Went to sleep on a bed of nails
You were so smart covered up your trails
Your mouth is dry and your life is stale
You always have a gun if all else fails
Sex is never just sex again
Why can't a partner just be your friend
Can we converse without a fight
And will it really matter if I spend the night
Not a pre-madonna rock star just being my crazy self always
Then you shun me to the corner cause I choose not to participate
My thoughts are running wild got to let them free emancipate
You thought you had me trapped but there is one more move, checkmate
Spent all my time on popularity and I accept my duality
But I'm growing out of it

General Commentmy favorite LBC song... about how society today can have us make drastic life-changing choices at such a young age without any preparation, and society drills in us what these choices should be

General Commentto me, its about being a kid, and having all these decissions to make, and not knowing right now how to make them. but, how we are pushed to pick, and so many people follow the crow, just to do what is expected, with out knowing why. its about thinking about what you are doing, and why you are doing it

General CommentI agree about the fact it is talking about making choices without having the time to trully think bout it... because we dont have the time to get to know who we are, and we are supposed what we want to do for our life time? ... it says also that there are soul searching for the little things, the true things of life, the makes you all right... or at least lead you on this way to become all right, instead of living on permenant stress and having a gun... just in case that you get too much tired. also at the end he says that sex cant be be just sex again.. i guess he means that when we are young we have our first experience, that is a pure discovery... but then it becomes more a way to let go of all the pressure we are feeling... and we live in a permenant stress, because we live the consequence of choices that in fact we never really wanted but tat we did because we felt forced to... and our life free time become meant for a distraction of our emptyness... thru sex, drugs food etc... but he ask: why cant we just be friend... and to go a little farther , to me it means... this person tat you want to have sex with, why dont you just try to tell this person how you feel, how you are not comfortable in your life, all the true things that we keep inside...until we die... hum yea stuff like that

General CommentWhen I look at this song I think it has something to do with parents and the government and older people. Like the line "Pretending to respect who I secretly fight". I think it's about rebeling and stuff. And getting "Pushed to the side" shows how very little our 'elders' treat us. Don't make fun of me if you don't see this song as I do. I just get that message.

General CommentThis song is actually about a meeting with a record label that they turned down. "Pretending I'm respecting who I secretly fight". They wanted a 3 record deal but were offered a 2 record deal. They have always had problems with labels. they hate the business part of the music industry which ultimately drained and killed this band. Look at the names of all their albums under Elektra, "Throwing the Game", "Commitment"(in which the cover was a man in a suit chained to a suitcase). And some B tracks once off that i'm sure didn't make their albums. And their last one "How to Get Out Alive". Hey hated being under a label and it ruined what they had before they were signed.
