It was an early morning phone call December
That got my attention
They called to tell me that you were gone
You were the strength of all my hopes and inspirations
You were the music in my song

Sometimes what doesn't seem so fair
That's what makes us more aware

I know you're smiling
I know you're singing, I know that you're in a better place
Where angels wings caress you
But I still miss you

More than leaves are falling this October
It's just that I wanted to stand with you for awhile
Now I"m walking throught a doorway to tomorrow
More like running, running out of time

Sometimes what doesn't seem so fair
That's what makes us more aware

I know you're smiling
I know you're singing, I know that you're in a better place
Where angels wings caress you
But I still miss you

I love this song so much. I recently lost someone close to me and when I heard this song I could imagine her dancing on a cloud somewhere. It's such a beautiful song and it reminds me that even though she's no longer here, she's not gone.

A song such as this makes people become more comfortable with the idea of losing someone dear. A close friend of mine passed earlier this year and the lines "sometimes what doesn't seem so fair/ Thats what makes us more aware" came in good use. This is def an awesome song

This song is incredible. My sister isn't here with me, but I know that she's in better place, where angels' wings caress her... but I still miss her. It's written so beautifully. The lyrics are exactly how I feel. First time I heard this, I was crying and I didn't even realize it. The more I listen to it, the more I fall in love with the song. It's soooo powerful, the way the notes fall. His voice carries it well. Excellent, EXCELLENT song

It's an awesome song... Zac told me it's about his grandpa, who died this past year.

Like nine years ago my friend went in for a surgery which had about a 95% success rate and died. I heard about her death via telephone, and, since I'd heard this song for the first time on the radio the day before...

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
