"Serpentine Pad" as written by and Stephen Malkmus....
Frequently called numbers
Snorin' when you slumber
Everyone, knows you do
Why won't you admit it

Screw you!
And take it all
Force fed integration
From the corporation

I don't need this corporation attitude
I believe
I will never leave
Your serpentine pad

Darling when you wake up
Better ask the grown ups
If they have posed'm twice
Leave them and lead other lives

Think it might be another thing
That I would want to know but
I don't know if I should,
If I could

And if I would any way
I believe
I will never leave
Your serpentine pad

General CommentI love the way this song parodies typical over-the-top rock-band moaning about corporate stuff. The chorus (I believe I will never leave ur serpentine pad) reminds me of meeting someone for the first time and being so drawn in by them that you don't think they could have any faults or that your illusions about them could ever be shattered. Plus, I love the way he says "anyway."
