"Drown Soda" as written by Courtney M Love and Eric T. Erlandson....
Ooh yeah, he wants to take you
Take you away from your life
Ooh yeah, he wants to take you
Take you away from your lies

Ooh yeah, he wants to take you
Get you away from my life
Ooh yeah, he wants to take you
Take you away from my life

Just you wait 'til everyone is hooked
Just you wait 'til everyone is hooked
Just you wait 'til everyone is hooked
Just you wait 'til everyone is hooked

Ooh yeah, he wants to take you
Take you by the hand
Ooh yeah, I want to kill you
Baby I know you'd understand

You gonna watch me
Watch me while I go down
Ooh yeah, you gonna watch me
I take you by the hand

Yeah, I want to kill you
Baby I know you understand
Oh yeah, you're gonna watch me
Watch me while I go down

Ooh, you're gonna watch me
Watch me while I drown
Ooh yeah, he wants to take you
Take you away from your life

Ooh yeah, I want to kill you
Tell you about my life
It's my lie and I believe in it
It's my lie and I lie in it

It's my bed and I believe in it
It's my bed and I lie in it
Sit in the corner and I drink drown soda
I want to bomb the whole state of minnesota

Bomb the whole state of minnesota

    General CommentThere are about as many versions of this song, as there are performances of it. So lyrics aren't going to always match up. Anyway, I don't know specifically what it's about, but it's one of the most menacing things Hole ever wrote.

    General CommentThe most common, (and technically the most proper) lyrics and version is the one from the "Ask For It" EP, since that was the only official release of the song (as far as I know)

    General CommentDo you know the last part of this song? I never realized it until someone pointed it out to me but Courtney mentions the states (or cities in Seattle's case) of people she knows.

    Minnesota = Kat Bjelland
    Illinois = Billy Corgan
    Ohio = Dave Grohl
    Seattle = ...Kurt Cobain, as if that wasn't obvious.

    I don't think this was a coincidence at all. I'm pretty sure all of these people were big parts of her life during this time...except maybe Dave Grohl, who I'm not so sure about. This must have something to do with the song

    General CommentThere are several versions of this song out there, but whatever. Anyway, I take it that this song has to do with Jesus. It might sound weird, but in the version where Courtney sings "Oh God, just let him rape you" it makes me think of Jesus being crucified.
