In the summer that you came
there was something eating everyone
and the sunshine fund was low
we couldn't greet you with a simple hello
and the watchers of the flood
were busy in the chambers
Making sure their was new blood
to sustain their dying veins

But I believed you
no need for further questioning
I'm going to leave with you
you can teach me all you know
Which way will we go now
on out trip to taller windows
I really don't know now
I really don't know

In the winter that you left
there was business as usual
with the same old fears and frustrations
but the word got out
it was really such a pity
the judges and the saints and the text book committee
decided you should be left out
not even mentioned

But I believed you
no need for further questioning
I'm going to leave with you
you can teach me all you know
Which way will we go now
o our trip to taller windows
I really don't know now
I really don't know

General CommentThis is like the saddest fucking song ever, but it's so beautiful, I cant stop listening to it.

I think it's about knowing someone, and being able to see that they are depressed and feel lost and alone in the world. But they are so damaged, and because no one else notices their depression, you know you wont be able to get through to them, but you're there for them, even if it seems hopeless.

But it's not a positive friendship song. You wanna pull them up from their pain, but it doesnt happen. It ends in confusion and despair. It almost seems like it'd play after a suicide or a death, or simply the person not being able to cope and disappearing.

It's so racked with pain and guilt and regret and sadness. But it's so graceful and beautiful. I know it's a cover, but it's just so totally Local H.

General CommentIt about Bob in his former life as a school teacher. He is talking to himself when he says" I believed you". Its about leaving all that behind and following his dream. He believes in himslef if no-one else does.
These lyrics are wrong by the way [I am new here so not sure how I post the correct lyrics] and the give away line is missing
"Which way will we go now, on our trip to taller windows"
It is a beautiful beautiful song.
