Made a meal and threw it up on Sunday
I've got a lot of things to learn
Said I would and I'll be leaving one day
Before my heart starts to burn

So what's the matter with you?
Sing me something new
Don't you know, the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away

Times are hard when things have got no meaning
I've found a key upon the floor
Maybe you and I will not believe in
The things we find behind the door

So what's the matter with you?
Sing me something new
Don't you know, the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away

Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows
Yeah, nobody knows
The way it's gonna be

If you're leaving, will you take me with you?
I'm tired of talking on my phone
There is one thing I can never give you
My heart will never be your home

So what's the matter with you?
Sing me something new
Don't you know, the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away
(Hey, hey)

Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows
Yeah, nobody knows
The way it's gonna be

The way it's gonna be, yeah
Maybe I can see, yeah
Don't you know, the cold and wind and rain don't know
They only seem to come and go away
(Hey, hey)

Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows the way it's gonna be
Stand by me
Nobody knows
Yeah, God only knows
The way it's gonna be

What's beautiful about this song is that anyone can relate to it. It can mean so many different things to so many different people.. As for me, this song can relate to a guy who is in love with this girl, but this girl doesn't feel the same way he feels about her. And, in such cases when a guy tells a girl his feelings and the girl doesn't feel the same way, it distances their friendship or their close relation that existed before all said and done. And this guy, instead of being attached to the girl, he maintains his distance--caught between the confusion of him and her. He wants to be friends and carries the guilt of why he told her about his feelings. That's why in this song, his words are powerful but his pride and ego is even more powerful. "There is one thing I can never give you... My heart will never be your home" In this verse, he is not telling her that he wont give her his heart. He's just strongly assuring her that them coming back together again, will not be for the sake of him wanting, needing or hoping naively for a relationship..he tells her that he understands and acknowledges that "he can never give her his heart" and "his heart will never be the place she calls home".. but he needs her as a friend. Since this girl is reluctant about going back or doesn't know what to do... he cry out loud asking her to "stand by him" because he needs her in his life and you never know what's it gonna be so why reject or walk away.. maybe he and she can be close as before, and maintain that close friendship that they both depend on and need.

... this just my thoughts on the song..

    My Interpretation

i agree with minttown1 and winglessdreamer, i think this song is about a commitment phobic person… Made a meal and threw it up in sunday Got a lot of things to learn Said I would and I believe in one day Before my heart starts to burn

He suddenly remembers that has more important things to do, he said to himself even before that he is gonna change and he thinks that if he is already believing his heart starts to burn. Another way of saying that he thinks it’s not gonna happen.

So what's the matter with you? Sing me something new... don't you know The cold and wind and rain don't know They only seem to come and go away

In this part he is telling the person to give him something fresh so that he can be interested in her again. Because this kind of person is the kind that easily gets tired/bored. But usually he regrets that because he liked that person and yet he is slowly becoming not interested anymore or enthusiastic as before.
    And this…

don't you know The cold and wind and rain don't know They only seem to come and go away

...is a metaphor for what he’s feeling. “It’s like cold and wind and rain, they just come and go…” to sum it up, he is asking that person to give him something new so that he can be fascinated of her again because his feeling in love is like a switch, it’s on and off.

Times are hard when things have got no meaning I've found a key upon the floor Maybe you and I will not believe in the things we find Behind the door

Like lydtorres said---He knows, that people needs something to hold on to, something to believe in. And he has found a way to do it, maybe by a girlfriend, mother, or somebody, but he is still skeptical about it

If you're leaving will you take me with you?
I'm tired of talking on my phone But there is one thing I can never give you My heart will never be your home

He likes her, he didn't want to lose her but he couldn't give his all. He doesn't want to be controlled because once you are in a relationship; you'll feel trapped- at least on the perspective of a commitment phobic. notice the "if you're leaving WILL YOU TAKE ME with you?" "BUT there is one thing I can never give you" "MY HEART will never be your home"----kinda selfish.

Stand By Me -- Nobody knows the way it's gonna be Stand By Me -- Nobody knows the way it's gonna be Stand By Me -- Nobody knows the way it's gonna be

But you know this guy didn't want his being commitment phobic, in fact he didn't understand it. He is still hoping he'll change. and that is why -- "Stand by me" it's like saying, JUST BE PATIENT. "Nobody knows the way it's gonna be" cause maybe one day he'll not be that kind of person anymore.
And he is telling STAND BY ME, NOBODY KNOWS THE WAY IT’S GONNA BE — three times! It’s like telling, PLEASE be patient, PLEASE understand, PLEASE give me a little more time!

But there is one thing I can never give you/My heart will never be your home

No one mentioned the last two lines. It's almost like he's saying that he wants her, but that she'll never be "in his heart." He wants her as an escape, a way to cope, but she'll never be the person for him to truly be with.

    Just a thought.

I agree. This song is amazing. My personal thoughts of the song...

I believe it's about someone who knows what it's like to go through pain. They know that no matter how beautiful life is, there will always be pain and hard times. "Nobody knows the way it's gonna be"

Throughout the song, this person is asking the one they love with all they have...to stand by them through thick and thin. He/She make is very clear that living without this person is impossible.

A very beautiful love song. I can't get enough of it.

i think this song is about acoholism as well. "made a meal and threw it up on sunday". and no matter how bad his acohol addiction gets he wants someone to be there for him.also, when you drink alot your heart starts to burn.

i think he asks someone to stand by him, indeed. Someone who'll always be there. But though he needs that person to stand by him, he won't start a relationship with the person. So in that point i can agree with minttown1.

I think its about a fella moving away from home to gain a little independance, but he soon realises how hard it is. the lyric "Made a meal and threw it up on Sunday" is said to his mum on the phone and he confesses "I've got a lot of things to learn" A great song.

Fortnight
Taylor Swift
The song 'Fortnight' by Taylor Swift and Post Malone tells a story about strong feelings, complicated relationships, and secret wishes. It talks about love, betrayal, and wanting someone who doesn't feel the same. The word 'fortnight' shows short-lived happiness and guilty pleasures, leading to sadness. It shows how messy relationships can be and the results of hiding emotions. “I was supposed to be sent away / But they forgot to come and get me,” she kickstarts the song in the first verse with lines suggesting an admission to a hospital for people with mental illnesses. She goes in the verse admitting her lover is the reason why she is like this. In the chorus, she sings about their time in love and reflects on how he has now settled with someone else. “I took the miracle move-on drug, the effects were temporary / And I love you, it’s ruining my life,” on the second verse she details her struggles to forget about him and the negative effects of her failure. “Thought of callin’ ya, but you won’t pick up / ‘Nother fortnight lost in America,” Post Malone sings in the outro.

Fast Car
Tracy Chapman
"Fast car" is kind of a continuation of Bruce Springsteen's "Born to Run." It has all the clawing your way to a better life, but in this case the protagonist never makes it with her love; in fact she is dragged back down by him. There is still an amazing amount of hope and will in the lyrics; and the lyrics themselve rank and easy five. If only music was stronger it would be one of those great radio songs that you hear once a week 20 years after it was released. The imagery is almost tear-jerking ("City lights lay out before us", "Speeds so fast felt like I was drunk"), and the idea of starting from nothing and just driving and working and denigrating yourself for a chance at being just above poverty, then losing in the end is just painful and inspiring at the same time.

Son Şansın - Şarkı Sözleri
Hayalperest
This song seemingly tackles the methods of deception those who manipulate others use to get victims to follow their demands, as well as diverting attention away from important issues. They'll also use it as a means to convince people to hate or kill others by pretending acts of terrorism were committed by the enemy when the acts themselves were done by the masters of control to promote discrimination and hate. It also reinforces the idea that these manipulative forces operate in various locations, infiltrating everyday life without detection, and propagate any and everywhere. In general, it highlights the danger of hidden agendas, manipulation, and distraction, serving as a critique of those who exploit chaos and confusion to control and gain power, depicting a cautionary tale against falling into their traps. It encourages us to question the narratives presented to us and remain vigilant against manipulation in various parts of society.

Cajun Girl
Little Feat
Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”
