i'll lift my eyes up from inside myself
no longer will i see in terms of me
for inside my heart is the promise of spring
and to speak of winter is to speak foolishly

my faith is the substance of things that i've hoped for
and the evidence of things not seen
for inside my heart is the promise of spring
and to speak of winter is to speak foolishly

in my soul there is fire it causes my heart to burn

since i met you, i no longer relate to sadness

well, to me this song is about an awakening inside someone.

in the first verse he mentions looking outside of himself. as in no being self-centered. focusing on others.

in the second half he is saying he is depending on his faith, - letting go in a way.

the last two lines seem to refer to someone making him happy. now that he isn't focused only on himself, he can see happiness outside of his own in life- even through turmoil.

that's my take, thanks for listening.
