"Role Model" as written by Justin R. Timberlake, Christopher Michael Anderson, Daniel D. Dangerfield Jr., Elliott L. Ives, Rico Love, Frank Romano, James Gregory Scheffer and Robin Morris Tadross....
Who can I believe in when all my heroes are gone?
Does anybody out there know their right from wrong?
No I can't trust the president, I can't trust the cops
I can't believe my ears when the radio's on

I feel so lonely in your world
So disappointed in your world
I'm making my own way
Trying to learn from my mistakes
'Cause I've got no role model
No footsteps I can follow
I'm making my own way

And I can't expect a teachert to keep me safe from harm
I can't expect a criminal to say he's wrong
But at the lowest standards I need a stand up friend
Someone I can look up to put my faith back in

I feel so lonely in your world
So disappointed in your world
I'm making my own way
Trying to learn from my mistakes
'Cause I've got no role model
No footsteps I can follow
I'm making my own way
My own way

So I'm turning off the tv and I smashed my radio
'Cause I realize my heroes are the people I already know
And I'm burning up the papers and tearing up all the magazines
'Cause they make me feel so lonely
When there's no one who represents me

Am I all alone? Am I all alone?

I feel so lonely in your world
So disappointed in your world
I feel so lonely in your world
So disappointed in your world
I'm making my own way
Trying to learn from my mistakes
'Cause I've got no role model
No footsteps I can follow
I'm making my own way

General CommentI can really identify with this song. The lyricist just feels that there is nothing positive in the world, and they have no one they can turn to for support.

General CommentI LOVE THIS SONG SO MUCH. I totally agree with everyone. This song is definitely about not listening to the media, because your real heros, the people you can really trust, are your friends.

General Commentthis was the 2nd song they played last night, it was absolutely insane, words can't describe it. h20 is awesome live, especially if you get to go see them in a small club with like only 50 or 60 kids. if you get a chance to see these guys live to not miss it!
