"Secret" as written by and Ron Harbin Cyril Rawson....
it's your secret
why would you tell it to me?
it's your lover
on the television scream (?)
why would you not try to be?
why would you not try to see?

it's about your blue hair
i want to stay the night with you
you got the beamiest face
car turns right i'm into you
right from wrong is not quite seen
right from wrong is it everything?

it's your secret
it's your secret
tell it to me
tell it to me

don't want to step on the cracks
the feeling is we didn't
you got the beamiest face
car turns left i'm into you
taking sleepy pills for rest
anxious love gets so obsessed

it's your love affair
on a quiet sunday afternoon
and your speedy pills
you should know i'm into you
why would you not try to be?
why would you not try to see?

General CommentI love this song, why no comments? Howie is going to be so big one day, and he deserves it.

General Commenti love this song as well. i was first introduced to howie about a year and a half ago...and have been in love ever since. this is one of my favorites. i think this song is about two friends. a guy and a girl...but both want to be more than friends...but don't tell each other."it’s your secret why would you tell it to me? she does love hime. but won't say it. "anxious love gets so obsessed"....all they can do is think about their feelings for each other.

General Commenti love how he shows progression... car turns right i'm into you...car turns left i'm into you....you should know i'm into you.... its horrible when two people have a deeper attraction and just can't get it together and the worst part is not knowing whether you should make the first move or not... "anxious love gets so obsessed". HOWIE DAY IS A LYRICAL GENIUS

General Commenti agree with pianorocker completely. they're two people so into each other and they know it, and for some reason it's not going anywhere because she won't admit her secret.

love the lines "it’s your love affair / on a quiet sunday afternoon / and your speedy pills / you should know i’m into you". i can totally relate, when you KNOW that somebody is attracted to you, and you KNOW that they know you're completely into them, but they won't let you do anything about it! and you just keep wondering, "why would you try not to see?"

General CommentI saw Howie for the 3rd time a couple months ago when he came to the ATL. Not the best show I've seen by him, but still pretty damn good.
He mentioned before he performed this song that this is actually about a girl who has an abortion.
I thought it was a little twisted, but the more I listened to it the more it made sense.
Just goes to show you how crazy some of Howie's songs are.
I mean, come on, I love him, but he's a little off the wall.
Either way, thought fans might appreciate being able to understand another one of his amazing songs.

General Commenti think its about having two options.
car turns right - dont tell him
car turns left - tell him.
well thats what i thought at first.
    but really not sure.
"i want to stay all night with you
    you’re the beamiest face "
    melts me everytime.
