"Cotton Crown" as written by Kim Gordon, Lee M. Ranaldo, Steven Jay Shelley and Thurston Joseph Moore....
Love has come to stay in all the way
Its gonna stay forever and every day
It feels like a wish coming true
It feels like an angel dreaming of you
Feels like heaven forgiving and getting
Feels like we're fading and celebrating
You got a carnal spirit spraying
I'm gonna laugh it up
You got a cotton crown I'm gonna keep it underground
You're gonna take control of the chemistry
And you're gonna manifest the mystery
You got a magic wheel in your memory
I'm wasted in time and I'm looking everywhere

I don't care where
I don't care where
Angels are dreaming of you
Angels are dreaming of you
Angels are dreaming of you
Angels are dreaming of you

New York City is forever kitty
I'm wasted in time and you're never ready
Fading fading celebrating
I got your cotton crown
I got your cotton crown
I got your cotton crown
I got your cotton crown
I got your cotton crown
I got it

General CommentThis is a terrific song to listen to during a long training run - one of the best. For a long time I couldn't figure out what it was about, but it really made sense in the endorphin drenched brain of a long distance runner (me). But then it occurred to me that the song is about the effects of shooting heroin - which I have never done - but this explanation seems to make sense.

I think the first line about love is there to disguise the song's meaning. The rest of the lines describe, I think, the drug's effects.

What is a cotton crown? I'm not sure but I think it is a description of a physical sensation that is hard to describe. What do you think?

General CommentCould the cotton crown be a bandage covering the needlemarks? I don't know, I don't shoot heroin.

General CommentTh part about not caring where is definetly pointing towards shooting up.

But this is one of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard in my life.

General CommentI think you filter a heroin solution through a cotton ball before shooting up. I'm not sure about the details exactly, but that could be where "cotton crown" comes from if the heroin interpretation is correct.
