"I Get Around" as written by Brian Douglas Wilson and Mike E. Love....
Round round get around, I get around, yeah
(Get around round round I get around, ooh-ooh) I get around
Fom town to town (get around round round I get around)
I'm a real cool head (get around round round I get around)
I'm makin' real good bread (get around round round I get around)

I'm gettin' bugged driving up and down the same old strip
I gotta find a new place where the kids are hip
My buddies and me are getting real well known
Yeah, the bad guys know us and they leave us alone

I get around (get around round round I get around)
From town to town (get around round round I get around)
I'm a real cool head (get around round round I get around)
I'm makin' real good bread (get around round round I get around)

I get around (round, get around-round-round, ooh)
(Wah-wah-ooh)
(Wah-wah-ooh)
(Wah-wah-ooh)

We always take my car 'cause it's never been beat
And we've never missed yet with the girls we meet
None of the guys go steady 'cause it wouldn't be right
To leave their best girl home now on Saturday night

I get around (get around round round I get around)
From town to town (get around round round I get around)
I'm a real cool head (get around round round I get around)
I'm makin' real good bread (get around round round I get around)

I get around (round, ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah-ah)

Round round get around, I get around, yeah

Get around round round I get around (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Get around round round I get around (wah-wah-ooh)
Get around round round I get around (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Get around round round I get around (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Get around round round I get around (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Get around round round I get around (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Get around round round I get around (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Get around round round I get around (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)
Get around round round I get around (ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh)

General Commentit's pretty obvious that this song is about some cocky kids who love drag racing and driving around. It's pretty cool and I'm surprised that not a lot of posters have made comment on it cuz it's so famous

Song MeaningWow! Never ceases to amaze me how deep some peoples' interpretations of these songs are! It's a song about being circa 17 - racing cars (probably hot-rods), cruising different places

Song Fact"The Bad Guys Know us" Hmmm. Early reference to Bullies?? "American Graffiti" had a LOT of Bullying in it, with Tough but Good-Hearted Milner coming to the rescue of his Geek/Mechanic Toad. And, of course, the classic cop car axle ruination the guy did to survive the Bad Crew who kidnapped him.
