"Titanium Expose" as written by Kim Gordon, Lee M. Ranaldo, Steven Jay Shelley and Thurston Joseph Moore....
Waking up I see you dreaming of a drive in
Open yr eyes to see TV-set in blue
I've been waiting for you to smile, I'm the great head freezin'
Wintertime comes summer, you are why it's happenin', to me

Sugar babe, sugar babe do it to me
Do me babe, do me babe can't you see me?
Sugar now, sugar now do it to me
Do me babe, do me babe can't you see me?

I feel the morning slip in sights into your mirror
Now I see what you might see it's pretty clear
I been looking just to feel that funny feelin'
I don't know but it's a mystery to reckon, right you

Sugar babe, sugar babe do it to me
Do me babe, do me babe can't you see me?
I'm sugar now, sugar now do it to me
Take me babe, take me babe can't you see me?

General CommentI love this song to death. I first heard it in a Toy Machine skate video called "Welcome to Hell". This was my introduction to Sonic Youth.

I think this song is about wanting more than what you have. Knowning something is missing in your life, and taking a guess at what you need/want.

General CommentI think it's about a lady who left him, and he couldn't get turned on; he was "frozen" during "wintertime" which was triggered by her leaving. She comes bringing "summertime", making things hot again and turning him on. All of it's because of her; she's summer and winter. "sugar babe... do it to me... do me now" He's been waiting for that "funny feeling" sex? Or maybe it's all about drugs(the lyrics fit for both). but "I don't know, it's a mystery to reckon with"

General Commentthe lyrics here are wrong. the chorus is in fact "sugar babe, sugar babe, turn the TV, turn it babe, turn it babe, can't you see me? sugar now, sugar now, turn the TV, turn it babe, turn it babe, can't you see me? check on sonicyouth.com if you don't believe me.

General Commenti think it's about wanting more also but at the same time forgetting what you do have and realizing it in an instant.

General CommentAs for the meaning of the title (sorry for doubl post):
    Titanium is hard and light.
A definition of expose is: To subject or allow to be subjected to an action, influence, or condition.
So, He could be allowing himself/exposing himself to become hard and getting light headed.

General CommentYeah that would probably make sense, since towards the end of the music video, it shows Thurston taking a bunch of pills and dropping some..well..drops into his eyes. (probably some type of LSD) But that's only a guess, coming from what Enkidu said.

General Commentha ha kim and thurston make out in this clip. steve is great walking around with the periodic table (like a map) and eating pizza on the street corner and lee renaldo making that scarf . they are all so cute. this has to be my fave sonic youth clip. about the name, i thourght it was called titanium expose because on the demo someone from geffen thought that it said it somewhere in the song and so then thats what they called it. but yeah its a love song

General Commentsorry about this double-post, but i think on the track-listing on the back of the CD, the word 'expose' has an accent on it ("exposé") - which makes it 'a declaration of facts', as opposed to the verb enkidu stated.
in this case, it is a declaration of facts about titanium. if we tie it in with enkidu's definition of titanium, the 'titanium exposé" is the guy revealing his titanium - his hardness, etc, which is brought on by the girl's return.
so i think it's about sex, but love too.
