"Madeline" as written by and Zachary Walker/hanson Hanson....
Out my window a memory
And I'm dyin' inside
I know the way it should be
Even though it was right in front of me
It was something I just couldn't see

Your lonely face
Your lonely eyes
But this is something you can't disguise
It's not just me, you feel it, too
?Cause you know I belong to you

Look at where we're goin'
Tell me, what can I say
We're tracing our footsteps
We're going the same way

Madeline
Here we go around again
You know it, I know it
Don't try to pretend
We know it could be
So much better than it's been
Ahh ooo
Here we go around again

I was empty inside
But I just didn't know
You are my ten thousand roses
And I let you go
Before I make the same mistake
Hold me in your arms
We belong, you know it in your heart

Cause look where we're going
No doubt in my mind
Can't you see it's meant to be
Oh oh oh my Madeline

General CommentAhh, Madeline. :) To one of my friends, this was *her* song. I have a great memory of this song, from April 2002, when I was in France.. we were going around the roundabouts/traffic circles and the song just happened to be 'Madeline' in the CD player.. so everyone in the car that knew the song (at least 4 people) started singing it at the top of our lungs as we kept going around the circle. *laughs*

'Here we go 'round again, Here we go, here we go, Here we go 'round again' Etc. This one guy gave us a dirty look.. guess he didn't appreciate us having so much fun. ;)

For the song itself.. very upbeat and fun. I really like the line 'I was empty inside, but I just didn't know/You are my ten thousand roses, and I let you go/ Before I make the same mistake, just hold me in your arms/We belong we know it in your heart'. Yep, yep.

General Commentagh!! why can't more music today be GOOD? they should ban half the stuff of today... but that's just me. Hanson never dies, they just lie dormant for a while and come back better than ever.

General CommentI love this song, so. It's about an arguement in a relationship that reoccurs and isnt resolved. But it's put in the cutest (I mean in a good way) way's possible.

General CommentThis is brilliance!! It is an introspective number about fantasizing about the star of the children's book series, Madeline (remember....In an old house in Paris that was covered in vines lived 12 little girls in two straight lines....no? ah). Anyways, Hanson is ruminating on their infatuation with the charming redhead child, and realizing that they can't "try to pretend". She is lonely ("You were lonely inside...") because she has to live at a boarding school with a bunch of girls. How agonizing. Hanson created something remarkable and original with this song, and we should all give them kudos.
