"Side" as written by and Francis Healy....
Well I believe there's something watching over you
They're watching every single thing you say
And when you die they'll set you down and take you through
You'll realize one day

That the grass is always greener on the other side
The neighbor's got a new car that you want to drive
And when time is running out you want to stay alive

We all live under the same sky
We all will live we all will die
There is no wrong
There is no right
The circle only has one side

We all try hard to live our lives in harmony
For fear of falling swiftly overboard
But life is both a major and minor key
Just open up the chord

But the grass is always greener on the other side
The neighbour's got a new car that you want to drive
And when time is running out you want to stay alive

We all live under the same sky
We all will live
We all will die
There is no wrong
There is no right
The circle only has one side

General Commentyes! on the live in glasgow dvd fran uses a great metaphor to explain this song. something like "we are all on this world, and the world is just one big circle with one side. so next time your at odds with someone, remember your on the same side as them" fran is genius.

General CommentTo me, this song is about how people are discontent. No matter what, it seems that we arent satisfied.. hence the "grass is always greener on the other side... the neighbor's got a new car that you wanna drive.".. however, i think that travis is trying to tell us that we are all equal. "we all will live, we all will die." In the grand scheme of things.. we are all the same. Be content and happy with what you have.

General CommentIt's about us all being the same underneath it all. I was at a Travis concert, and Fran said 'The next time anyone tries to put on airs and make you feel low, just imagine them taking a shit. Everybody shits.'

General CommentI love this song. There is just something about Travis that makes me like everyone of the songs. It is sort of like how I feel about dashboard. It has to do with the sound that's produced.

General CommentAmit, the video does not define the song. it is only one person's interpretation.

i will hand it to you, tho. the video is sweet.

General CommentWho's got the 'Live in Glasgow' DVD? It's great. Hurrah. Get it, and Fran will enlighten you by explaining just what he meant with this song. And Dougie will just hump his guitar.

General CommentFor the most part, I agree with the lyrics of this song. Many times I find friends and myself thinking that everybody else has it better off then they do. When in reality, it can always get worse. It's just that it depends on what things you take for granted until one time you realize that it's been taken away from you.
