"Master of Insanity" as written by Terrence Butler, Tony Iommi and Ronnie James Dio....
Look all around
Can't you open your eyes
Voices are calling

Killing rain falling down from the sky
Crying with nightmare tears

Out on the street
You'll see blood on the ground
Cities are burning

Feeling the pain cutting right to your soul
Goodbye now
You're caught in his spell

Your freedom is gone
He's taken everything
You ever had
But if you're strong you'll survive
You've got to hold on
Open your eyes

[Chorus]
Behind the lies you will see
The master of insanity
Under the mask there will be
The master of insanity

Innocent minds
They're the victims of shame
Staring in sorrow

Promises lying there
Broken and crushed
Confusion-just disappear

What can you give
To be left all alone
When there's nothing at all

Your freedom is gone
He's taken everything
You ever had
But if you're strong you'll survive
You've got to hold on
Open your eyes

[Chorus]

Behind the lies you will find
He's trying to get inside you
Just open your eyes and you will see
The master of insanity

[Chorus]

Between the lies you will find
that he's trying to get inside you
Out of the night into your mind
He's always right beside you

Yeah, between the lies you will see
The master of insanity
Open your eyes or you will be
The master of insanity

General CommentWell, I think the last line of the song is really revealing. It's about the madman within us all. It's kind of a darker version of "Heaven and Hell". We are the cause of all good and all evil in this world, so we have the power to "open our eyes" and do the right thing, or we can choose to be egoistic and uncaring.

General CommentWOW! No one's commented on such a great song in the 3 1/2 years that it's been on here. That's a shame. I LOVE the bass/guitar riff at the beginning, it's just so dark and Sabbath-esque. It ROCKS!!!!

But about the lyrics.... I think it's about someone who is very evil and deceptive, and two people come to mind, Satan and Charles Manson, his spawn. (Sorry, but I couldn't help the reference. I'm a Beatles fan too, and I HATE HIM!!! He ruined some of their better songs.) And the evil, deceptive person is always trying to take control of more and more people. But he appears to be quite pleasant on the outside, which is what makes him so dangerous.

General CommentThe coming of the Antichrist? I think so...
That's basically how the Bible describes his coming. All but a few people are fooled by his charisma, and they are the ones that fight back on the side of God when he tries to destroy the world. Interesting stuff...

General CommentYou are just some villain who lives in a chaotic world. There is a master of insanity which terrorizes the world and the people in it. Singer (dio) is a third person which tells you the conditions ("Your freedom is gone
    He's taken everything
You ever had") and describes who has done it.
"Under the mask, you will see, the master o insanity" he helps us to find him (or it)
"But if you're strong you'll survive
    You've got to hold on
Open your eyes" He harms us, so dio tells us what to do about it.
Finally master of insanity finds out that you know him and you know how to find him. It makes him unconfortable and he wants to punish you, kill or sth. ("he's trying to get inside you.")
So you show resistance, try to stop him from doing evil things. Like killing him
"Open your eyes, and you will be, the master of insanity"
Finally you lost, he became stronger. Chaos goes on. You are dead, but at least tried. He got inside you
