"You're All I Need" as written by and Nikki/lee Sixx....
The blade of my knife
Faced away from your heart
Those last few nights
It turned and sliced you apart
This love that I tell
Now feels lonely as hell
From this padded prison cell

So many times I said
You'd only be mine
I gave my blood and my tears
And loved you cyanide
When you took my lips
I took your breath
Sometimes love's better off dead

You're all I need make you only mine
I love you so I set you free
I had to take your life
You're all I need, you're all I need
And I loved you but you didn't love me

Laid out cold
Now we're both alone
But killing you helped me keep you home
I guess it was bad
Cause love can be sad
But we finally make the news

Tied up smiling
I thought you were happy
Never opened your eyes
I thought you were napping
I got so much to learn
About love in this world
But we finally made the news

You're all I need, make you only mine
I loved you so, so I put you to sleep.

General CommentThe song isn't about Vanity. It's about another girl named Nicole. Nikki was pretty sure she was cheating on him with Jack Wagner from the show General Hospital. Tommy played a cool piece on the piano, and Nikki wrote a song for it. Jack had a chart hit with a song called "You're All I Need". Nikki recorded the song, and gave it to Nicole on a casette. It's all in his new book 'The Heroin Diaries'.

General CommentBesides the part about the girl not loving him, this song reminds me of Sid & Nancy. I know it isn't the same, but...it just does.

General CommentThis was written about a guy who killed his girlfriend because she wanted to leave him... They saw the story on the news, and then wrote this song....

It gives me shivers, and was banned over here in Australia...

    General Commentyes that is true
the guy she was cheatin' on him with had a hit with a similar song to this so nikki rewrote the lyrics and gave them to his gf

Bon Jovi said it was the greatest love song he had ever heard lol so nikki said "go read the verses"

This song is special to me, as are all motley songs, but this signifies the departure of one who was once loved

    great song :):):):):)

General CommentThe song was written about how Nikki felt about Prince protege, Vanity, who was his girlfriend. A frightening slap in the face to her and a soap opera star had a hit at one time along the same lines.

General CommentThis song is my favorite Motley Crue ballad, it really gives me a cold hard chill down my heart. Oh and to all of you guitarists out there, learn it! It is very fun to play. I also like to sing the backup part while playing and then thats when I feel really good!
