"Bring Yourself" as written by and Travis Shane Meeks....
I can see your everything
Don't you know it's not hard to bring
Bring yourself to me
You know it's the world that you'd like

I can see that the world you know
Is the one that you like

I can see that the world you know
Is the one left behind

Ride that horse on in
We've been waiting for a long time
We've tried to pick you up
But you've just tried to bring us down
So why don't you just keep it between the fire and the place
What the hell
So why don't you just ride that horse on in
We've given you the strength to bring yourself
So why don't you stay a while
Have some children
Raise a family is this what you want
Is this what you came for
We've give you the strength to bring yourself

General CommentI have an inkling that this tune is about a person trying to break free from a past life and it still won't let go of him. "Bring yourself to me, You know it's the world that you'd like" sounds to me that an old flame or an old addiction is beckoning. The line that cements the meaning is "I can see that the world you know is the one left behind". It may be too simple an analysis, but it was worth a shot. Nobody commented yet, I am the first.

My OpinionOpinionHead, I think your take on it is very good. I would only add that it may not necessarily be the past life that won't let go of the person, but rather that the person won't let go of the past life. In other words, the world that said person left behind is the one they like(d), but obviously left behind. However, this person is still looking back and clinging to the former life even though everyone around him/her is giving their strength to bring him/herself into the present world. And you're right, it could be about an addiction of any sort, an old flame, heck an old job. And it all underscores the fact that if you want to make changes in your life, it has to be *you* that does it. Everyone around you can support, urge, help as much as possible, but the only one that can do it is *you*. Just my take - couldn't have done it without the previous comment though!

General CommentThis song, as others on the GREEN amlbum give me a feel of "Earth" Green Feel/ Native American Vibe to it. In my humble opinion this song reminds me of giving into the "earth" and the "self". The "Truth" is already here (native americans), and we need not try to hard to come to it, but to "bring ourself" to "it". Bring it in "not unlike a basketball team" and come to show the TRUTH"!! Hell ya!! forever DOTN!!!!
