"Leaving Las Vegas" as written by David Francis Baerwald, Bill Bottrell, Sheryl Suzanne Crow, Kevin M. Gilbert and David Ricketts....
Life springs eternal
On a gaudy neon street
Not that I care at all

I spent the best part of my losing streak
In an Army Jeep
For what I can't recall

Oh I'm banging on my TV set
And I check the odds
And I place my bet

I pour a drink
And I pull the blind
And I wonder what I'll find

I'm leaving Las Vegas
Lights so bright
Palm sweat blackjack
On a Saturday night
Leaving Las Vegas
Leaving for good, for good
I'm leaving for good
I'm leaving for good

Used to be I could drive
Up to Barstow for the night
Find some crossroad trucker

To demonstrate his might
But these days it seems
Nowhere is far enough away

So I'm leaving Las Vegas today

I'm leaving Las Vegas
Oh, lights so bright
Blackjack on a Saturday night
I'm leaving Las Vegas
I'm leaving for good, for good

I'm standing in the middle of the desert
Waiting for my ship to come in
But now no joker, no jack, no king
Can take this loser hand
And make it win

I'm leaving Las Vegas
Oh, I'm leaving Las Vegas
For good, for good
Leaving Las Vegas

I quit my job as a dancer
At the Lido des Girls
And we're dealing blackjack until one or two

Such a muddy line between
The things you want
And the things you have to do

Oh, leaving Las Vegas
Lights so bright
Palm sweat blackjack
On a Saturday night
Leaving Las Vegas
I'm leaving for good
Oh, I'm leaving Las Vegas
And the lights so bright
Palm sweat blackjack
On a Saturday night
I'm leaving Las Vegas
I'm leaving for good, for good
Oh, I'm leaving Las Vegas
And the lights so bright
Leaving Las Vegas
And I won't be back
No, no
No, I won't be back
Not this time

General CommentSong is about getting away from the mess in your life. I live in Las Vegas, and I love to play this every time I leave town. So awesome.

General Commentanother of my theme songs these days! quite literally! ...I just moved from las vegas. I don't know, I have mixed feelings... I'd like to think leaving it will leave certain memories behind, but I realize I'm kidding myself. =P

you can take me outta las vegas but can you really take las vegas outta me? there's the magic question...

at least this song rocks ass.

General CommentThere is a great line that I think is strong message for women not to depend on men to make things better for them:

no joker, no jack, no king, can take this losin' hand and make it win

translation- it's up to you to make things better for yourself. don't rely on a man to do it for you.

General CommentLas Vegas is a nice place to visit, but a strange place to work everyday or to spend all your time :-)
