"I Want You To Want Me" as written by and Rick Nielsen....

I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
I'd love you to love me.
I'm beggin' you to beg me.
I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
I'd love you to love me.

I'll shine up my old brown shoes.
I'll put on a brand new shirt
I'll get home early from work
if you say that you love me.
Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
see you cryin' (cryin, cryin').
Oh, Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
see you cryin' (cryin, cryin')
Feelin' all alone without a friend
you know you feel like dyin' (dyin', dyin').
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
see you cryin' (cryin', cryin').

I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
I'd love you to love me.
I'm beggin' you to beg me.

I'll shine up my old brown shoes.
I'll put on a brand new shirt
I'll get home early from work
if you say that you love me.
Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
see you cryin' (cryin, cryin').
Oh, Didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
see you cryin' (cryin, cryin')
Feelin' all alone without a friend
you know you feel like dyin' (dyin', dyin').
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
see you cryin' (cryin', cryin').

Feelin' all alone without a friend
you know you feel like dyin' (dyin', dyin').
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
see you cryin' (cryin', cryin').
Feelin' all alone without a friend
you know you feel like dyin' (dyin', dyin').
Oh, didn't I, didn't I, didn't I,
see you cryin' (cryin', cryin').

I want you to want me.
I need you to need me.
I'd love you to love me.
I'm beggin' you to beg me.

General CommentIt is definitely a cover that does justice to the original. And this version is off the soundtrack of a great movie. Probably the only high school movie a 23 year old should admit to liking. Do you guys know that the plot from 10 Things I Hate About You is actually the story of The Taming of the Shrew by the great William Shakespeare? A lot of the names are even the same- Biana and Katarina, Verona (in the original, he was called 'a gentelman OF Verona), and Padua, the name of the school, is the name of the town in the story.

General Commentthis song is okay, i guess.

too lame, too unoriginal, too overplayed, though.

LTC is better when they do their own songs.

and the movie was just like every other teen one. it doesn't do "the taming of the shrew" justice.
