"Throwing Fire At The Sun" as written by and Heather Nova....
I think of Venus sinking down into the sea
And what it is to be alone and have nothing
I don't know why you want to leave this space between
Is it easier to be alone and have nothing?

Oh, you and me and everyone
Oh, throwing fire at the sun

I put my hands up, lay my weapons down
I know that I was stupid, I was wrong

Oh, you and me and everyone
Oh, throwing fire at the sun

If I listen there's something deeper that speaks
If we reach out maybe we could make a little peace

Oh, you and me and everyone
Oh, throwing fire at the sun

Remember stealing oranges and how they bled
And you're the one who showed me how to touch myself

Oh, you and me and everyone
Oh, throwing fire at the sun

Blood is a river, ties you to me
Blood is a river, ties everyone
Blood is a river, ties you to me
Blood is a river, ties everyone
Oh, ties everyone
Oh, ties everyone

General CommentFirst of all, this is one of the nicest songs I've ever heard. But I think the songs title relays a great deal of meaning to the song itself.

Throwing fire at the sun is always going to be a very futile exercise, and
I think she refers to a partner/friend/relation that is leaving her, and no matter how hard she tries, they refuse to stay.

"I dont know why you want to leave this space between, is it easier to be alone and have nothing?"
