"Bank Holiday" as written by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Steven Alexander James and David Rowntree....
Grandma's got new dentures (to eat the crust on pizza)
Taken out by her daughter (because she thought she oughta)
Kids are eating snickers (because they're so delicious)
Then there's sticky fingers (then mother looses her knickers)

Bank holiday comes six times a year
Days of enjoyment to which everyone cheers
Bank holiday comes with six-pack of beer
Then it's back to work A-G-A-I-N

Barbeque is cooking (sausages and chicken)
Patio is buzzing (and the neighbors they are looking)
John is down the fun pub (drinking lots of lager)
Girls and boys are on the game (and all the high streets look the same)

Bank holiday comes six times a year
Days of enjoyment to which everyone cheers
Bank holiday comes with six-pack of beer
Then it's back to work A-G-A-I-N

Back to work A-G-A-I-N

Bank holiday comes six times a year
Days of enjoyment to which everyone cheers
Bank holiday comes with six-pack of beer
Then it's back to work A-G-A-I-N

Bank holiday

General CommentGreat songs, quite punky. I think the song speaks for itself, the fun of bank holidays!

General CommentA bank holiday is a holiday falling on a week day in the uk where banks and gov't buildings close down and everyone has off of work. It's like Memorial Day in the US, as opposed to say Valentine's Day. It's only appropriate that this song is as fast and frenzied as it is, Blur was a funny band.

General CommentI get a funny feeling he may just be taking the piss out of the whole British bank holiday ritual as well; the last verse in particular.

    Pure Blur.
