"No Distance Left to Run" as written by Damon Albarn, Graham Coxon, Steven Alexander James and David Rowntree....
It's over
You don't need to tell me
I hope you're with someone who makes you
feel safe in your sleeping tonight
I won't kill myself, trying to stay in your life
I got no distance left to run

When you see me
Please turn your back and walk away
I don't want to see you
'Cause I know the dreams that you keep is wearing me
When your coming down, think of me here
I got no distance left to run

It's over, I knew it would end this way
I hope you're with someone who makes you feel
That this life is the night
And it settles down, stays around
Spends more time with you
I got no distance left to run

Coming home

It's over

General CommentI also wanted to correct the lyrics.

feel safe in your sleeping tonight
    *is*
Feel safe in you sleep tonight

Cos i know the dreams that you keep is wearing me
    *is*
Cause I know the dreams that you keep that’s where we meet

That this life is the night
    *is*
That this life is a life

And it settles down, stays around
    *is*
One that settles down stays around

General CommentI think the title means he's content and he won't ask for more though he has lost the girl. The memory is enough for him.

General Commentwhile i agree with most and think this is kind of about his ex-girlfriend justine, i think it is also a lament to his friendship with graham coxon (blur guitarist), which by this time was completely fraught and practically disintegrated. graham was an alcoholic and increasingly withdrawn and damon was obsessed with playing the music business game (or that's how graham saw it anyway, and i suppose he had a point), and this is about how damon knew it was pretty much over and wouldn't go back, and how he didn't feel he could continue in this way any longer.

General CommentMy friend had me listen to this song when he realized that I didn't like him like he loved me. He had loved me for two years and kept holding on. I didn't want to let him go because I was the only thing that kept him going and made him believe that there was the possability of a God. I thought I got feelings for him and maybe I did, but I could never truely accept that. So I tried to be just his friend. And I ended up liking his friend since kindergarten who I liked from the beginning. He finally decided to let me go and that the only way he could get over me was by not talking to me. I really miss him as a friend but I know this is all for the best. My situation fits this song very well, I feel.

General Comment"When your coming down, think of me here"

that line really sticks out to me. i think it's about how justine [his ex-girlfriend] depended on drugs, and so it's sort of like when she's coming down from her high.

    otherwise, ace song. (:

General CommentSomeone asked about the name of the song. I think it's just Damon's realization that he's given it his best shot. The song is awfully sad of course, just focusing on that moment you realize that it's all over...

General CommentThis song came up during a time when I was lovesick, and still am thank you, and it makes me feel incredibly sad. I want to ask someone out but am afraid they'll say no and that I'm not good enough, and I think this song embodies how I'd feel it that was to happen. I'm praying it doesn't but holy shit this song makes me hurt nonetheless.
