"Bitch" as written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards....
Feeling so tired, can't understand it
Just had a fortnight's sleep
I'm feeling so tired, I'm so distracted
Ain't touched a thing all week

I'm feeling drunk, juiced up and sloppy
Ain't touched a drink all night
I'm feeling hungry, can't see the reason
Just ate a horse meat pie

Yeah when you call my name
I salivate like a Pavlov dog
Yeah when you lay me out
My heart is beating louder than a big bass drum, alright

Yeah, you got to mix it child
You got to fix it must be love
It's a bitch, yeah
You got to mix it child
You got to fix it but love
It's a bitch, alright

Sometimes I'm sexy, move like a stud
Like kicking the stall all night
Sometimes I'm so shy, got to be worked on
Don't have no bark or bite, alright

Yeah when you call my name
I salivate like a Pavlov dog
Yeah when you lay me out
My heart is bumpin' louder than a big bass drum, alright

I said hey, yeah I feel alright now
Got to be a
Hey, I feel alright now
Hey hey hey
Hey hey yeah
Hey hey hey
Hey hey yeah
Hey hey hey
Hey hey yeah
Hey hey hey
Hey hey yeah
Hey hey hey

General CommentThis is a glorious, dirty rocker from the stones. The well-up-in-the-mix horns are great too!

General CommentOne of the best straight-ahead rock 'n roll songs ever. I'm glad to see what the lyrics are in some places, 'cause as with several Stones songs they're kind of muddled to my ears just from listening to the recording. On this one in particular I had not figured out that Jagger was singing "Pavlov dog."

However, I do think the second line isn't "just had a fortnight's sleep," but "just had a full night's sleep." Could be wrong, but doesn't that make more sense?

General CommentI used to think he was saying something about Charlie having the sticks--eh i dunno. Thats not right and I have read that it's "child" not "Charlie". One thing though---"my heart starts beating like a big bass drum" is definetly wrong. It's --"my heart is beating louder than a big bass drum." It's a pretty clever song, one which the almighty Keith Richards saved when the rest of the band couldn't get it right.

My InterpretationWhile on the surface the song could be about women, it is pretty obvious underneath it is really about cocaine. The song could also be about heroin, but there are numerous speed references and the song is very upbeat and fast.

    Charlie= Slang for cocaine

In the beginning of the song he sings about being clean and not being able to function or work.

Feeling tired; Just had a fortnights sleep - He hasn't had coke and is sleeping a lot. No matter how much sleep he gets he is always tired and slow.

Feeling tired; Distracted ain't touched a thing all week - He is distracted and can't concentrate sober. The second part could mean he hasn't touched any of his work or most likely, he hasn't touched cocaine all week.

Salivate like pavlovs dog= When hearing or seeing cocaine he needs it like he craves it like a hungry person would for food.

Feeling hungry; Just ate a horse meat pie - Could mean that he is eating everything in sight from not eating while doing the coke. No matter how much he eats he is still hungry and doesn't understand how. This line could also be a reference to heroin.

When you lay me out my heart is beating louder than a bass drum - This has to be about cocaine. Heroin wouldn't make his heart feel like a bass drum the way cocaine would.

Sometimes I'm so shy, got to be worked on, ain't got no bark or bite - He is saying he is shy while sober and withdrawn/non-aggressive. He probably talks back more and is more charismatic while doing cocaine.
