"Power Mad" as written by Les Claypool, Reid L. Iii Lalonde, Bryan Kei Mantia and Tom Morello....
Military show is blastin' off to Kosovo.
Military show with lightning speed.
Sensitivity? oh, just a rusty nail in the corporate show.
How many stabs before we bleed?

Those Pinocchios chattering out in stereo,
Boy Pinocchio and his golden deed.
Masculinity? oh, galvanized in the world wide show
As we fertilize the seed.

Power mad, I didn't chop the tree down dad
I only try to do what's right.
Power man, the best friend that you ever had
Unless of course you choose to fight.

Power mad, driving out of the shadows,
He never tires when he plays.
Power mad, he's a streak in the night time
Speculating how he'll take on the world some day.

Originality? oh, just a rusty nail in a Broadway show
How many stabs before we succeed.

Power mad, I didn't drop my pants down dad,
I know my left hand from my right.
Power man, the best friend that you ever had
Unless of course you lose the fight.

General CommentThis song contains a number of references to the Presidents of the United States and how they have all been "power mad", from Washington (I didn't chop the tree down, dad) all the way up to Clinton (military show is blastin' off to Kosovo). In addition, I personally love the comparisons of the Commander in Chief to Pinnochio (a wooden marrionette, so true...), or the metaphor of a Broadway show to the American political scene.

Also, Tom Morrello (sic?) of Rage Against the Machine is given co-credit for this song, and his influence really shows.

General CommentPower is good when you have it, but when others have it it ain't so good. Also, power just makes things kinda bad.

General CommentIt's clearly about president Clinton: the events in Kosovo and the Lewinsky scandal (the album was released in 1999...). Why Monica? Because of the line: "...I didn't drop my pants down dad..."

General Commentthe only thing is.... clinton was not really power mad. he was a prety good president outside of the lewisnky scandal. idk if it really is all about clinton. its kind of a confusing song to pin down... but the bass line is bangin

General CommentThis song is obviously about Star Wars. It describes Chancellor Palpatine (who would later become the emperor of the federation) and his lust for power that drove the galaxy to the dark side.
