Is tomorrow just a day like all the rest
How could you know just what you did?
So full of faith yet so full of doubt I ask
Time and time again you said don't be afraid
If you believe you can do it
The only voice I want to hear is yours
Again
I shall ask you this once again
And again
He said,
I am but one small instrument
Do you remember that?
So here I am above palm trees so straight and tall
You are smaller, getting smaller
But I still see you

General Comment:The quotes are from John Irving's "A Prayer for Owen Meany." This song is about Owen Meany and the end of the book which takes place at Sky Harbor Airport in Arizona. Read the book, you won't be dissapointed.

General Comment:This song hasn't gotten as much praise as it deserves.

This is an amazing song, from an amazing album, an from a really amazing band. The lenght of it may cause some people to turn it down at first, but if you give it a chance, you'll be swept away.

I always sing along with the instrumentals...such a great song. This song is not long enough.

This is definately one of JEW's best songs.

General Comment:this song has no specific meaning, it means whatever it means to you as the listener. i just think it is amazingly beautiful music. when i go home to california i like to listen to this song and also for me this is heaven while sitting above the beach at dusk, it's really the only way for me to appreciate the music fully, because when you are looking at something beautiful while listening to something beautiful, you just feel beautiful and like your life is not insignificant.... man i love this song....

General Comment:ok...i heard that how long this song is (maybe 16:09 or something) is how long it takes for you to die if you slit your wrists...maybe i'm wrong but just saying what i heard. and also this song really sounds like death/suicide..especially the lines "So here I am above palm trees so straight and tall. You are smaller, getting smaller". also how do you (fletcherjhs) see this song being about religion? jw

General Comment:Wow, that is so cool that this song is about that book! I have to read it. Jimmy's cool how they do that, like the Hear You Me on (see the comments). Nacho--I agree with you that this song DOES deserve more praise, and, shh, but I sing along with the instrumentals too!!

General Comment:i heard somewhere that the timing of this song is very specific, and that the length (16.15) is important. i can't remember what it is, but the slitting wrists idea sounds a little too morbid for jimmy eat world. great song though. anyways, thats what i think...
