"15 Will Get You 20" as written by and Jean/franklin/brooks....
Fifteen will get ya twenty
Sixteen will get ya ten
Don't think it can't happen to you cause
It happened to one of my friends

Eighteen fresh out of school
Doin' the right thing playing by the rues but
One day she caught his eye thirty six, twenty four with
A skirt size five. He stepped to and
Asked her name mot ever thinking to
Ask her age she so fine she had
To be grown had he known then what
He knows now.
She was only beauty queen, man oh man how
Could this be so damn fly but only sixteen

Fifteen get ya twenty, sixteen get you ten don't
Think it can't happen to you cause
It happened to one of my friends

Let me tell you about my friend
1997 homecoming queen working hard
On her degree but one hot day she was
Out at the Greek and there he was about
Five foot nine chocolate as cocoa in the middle of
July so fine. He had to be grow
Had she knew then what she knows now.
He was only sixteen with the body of a god and
A face of a king man oh man how could this be
So damn fly but only sixteen

General CommentA lot is said here. My opinion on the older dating thing is if you love them then there shouldn't be nothing with your relashinship. But I guess the LAW doesn't see it that way. I really think this song has a great sense of reality to it.

General CommentI lost my virginity when I was 16, to someone who was 20. At the time I didn't think it was a big deal, but looking back on it, it's such a scumbag thing for a 20 year old guy to have sex with a 16 year old girl.

General CommentI'm guessing the law is different in the States, but here in the UK the legal age for sex is 16+.

I can relate to this song very much at the moment because I've just started seeing a girl of 15. I'm19 myself, by the way. She was waitressing in my local pub, but was serving alcohol as well - so when I started to chatting to her I really did think she was 18+. Turns out she's just 15, despite looking, dressing and acting my age.

I'm not going to have sex with her (least not until she's 16) but if I ever got tempted I'd listen to this song!

And to top it off, it's a great little r'n'b tune. I love City High :-)

General CommentIt's not that difficult. I'm Puerto Rican and black, and there are virtually no white people in my neighborhood (I live in Prince George's County, MD, next to DC) and the teen males and females (but especially females) tend to look much much older than they really are. I'm only 16, and I've gotten into clubs around here with no ID, said that I was as old as 22 and gotten away with it. Most black females that I know are 15, looking 20, and alot of males that I know assume that if you look or act a certain age, you are. The song is just warning people that, yeah, he or she might look older, and you might think you'll never get caught, but if you do, you will get jail time. My friend's ex-boyfriend is 26 and got arrested and kicked out of the Navy for having sex with her because she ended up being pregnant. He has 9 years in jail. City High just wants 2 warn others... always ask 4 ID
