"About An Hour Ago" as written by and Marc Andrew Roberge....
There was a man on the road bout an hour ago
and he was looking for a ride to New Mexico
Well we was driving by
Way too fast to know
Well then we got to the place on a high speed chase
There was a girlie in the corner with a plastic face
And then she disappeared without a trace
I say without a trace
Well now we're kicking back and we're sipping beers
And there's a man telling stories about his inner fears
We was all choked up and too close to tears
Well then we moved on up to some margaritas
And we started making faces at the senoritas
Playing drinking games, but they were all too drunk to beat us
Well now, my car broke down about an hour ago
We were heading on down to New Mexico,
But, well we did not see the gas was low
[Chorus]
Hey, hey, I said the gas was low
the gas was low
the gas was low
the gas was low
Hey, the gas was low. Hey.
Lalalalalalalalaaaaaaaaa
We got back to the party
We been on the road we're kinda dirty
I seen this girl I said you're mighty purty.
Well I said hello, bout an hour ago
We were heading on down to the big grass show,
But hey, we did not see, the gas was low
[Chorus]
About an hour, about an hour ago
About an hour, about an hour ago
About an hour... about - an hour ago.

General CommentI don't understand why you insist on calling this song "the gas was low". The name is "About An Hour Ago". It has no subtitle.

General CommentOar is incredible live, i saw them last night for the second time. I'm an avid concert goer and I'd have to say that besides Dave Matthews that was the best live performance i'd ever seen. This whole CD (the wanderer) sounds like one incredible road trip. This song just makes me wanna go jump in my passport and take a road trip with the windows down and OAR blasting.

General CommentI may sound like a fool asking but what is "the big grass show"? If it were by Sublime or guns 'n' roses or some other band i would think it referring to ganja but whatever just answer.

General CommentSorry I don't know about "the big grass show" question but I just wanted to say how much I love this song and I love how it has this kind of carefree feeling. O.A.R. can really capture stuff like that, espeically in concert, as everyone's been saying. I'm going to my fifth O.A.R. concert this friday and i can't wait, they're one of the best live bands ever.

General CommentI love how some of this bands song are just so gooffy you can only laugh at them and i totally think they are meant to be that way. I love a band who is able to goof off and just have some fun and sing about some road trip and a party and pretty girls. Just makes me want to hang out with good friends sip brrrrrrrrs and shoot the shit while this plays in the background.
