"Overjoyed" as written by Stephen Daniel Mason, Dan Haseltine, Greg Wells and Mark Hudson....
You named me
Who am I
That I should company with
Something so divine
Mercy waits
Prospects of finding freeing
Freeing me

Love is the thing this time I'm sure
And I couldn't need you more now
The way that you saw things were so pure

You name me
Thoughts of peace
Can overcome anything
Mirror spin
Wicked tales
Here lies reflections of
Deceptions of

Missing the me from you,
You gave to me
(Gave to me)
Don't like the one
I have created today
Crossing nameless
From the one I've earned
To be the one, the one you gave to me

You name me,
Name me
Finding freeing me

[Chorus: x2]

General CommentOne of Jars of Clay's most cryptic and poetic songs. I believe that it's about a Christian's former transgressions being erased, and the slate essentially being wiped clean. This person's former identity was shrouded in wickedness and embarrassment, and God changed that name to joy and purity. We continually recreate the sinful self and go back to our old follies, and God continually creates the innocent, righteous self despite that. Salvation is a continuous process.
