"Like A Child" as written by Stephen Daniel Mason, Charlie Lowell, Dan Haseltine and Matthew Ryan Bronleewe....
Dear God
Surround me as I speak
The bridges that I walk
Across are weak
And the frustrations fill the
Void that I can't solely bear

Dear God
Don't let me fall apart
You've held me close to you
But I have turned away
And searched for answers
I can't understand

They say that I can move the mountains
And send them falling to the sea
They say that I can walk on water
If I would follow and believe
With faith like a child

Sometimes,
When I feel miles away
And my eyes can't see your face
I wonder if I've grown to lose
The recklessness I walked in
Light of you

They say that I can move the mountains
And send them crashing to the sea
They say that I can walk on water
If I would follow and believe
With faith like a child

They say that I can move the mountains
And send them crashing to the sea
They say that I can walk on water
If I would follow and believe
With faith like a child

They say that love can heal the broken
They say that hope can make you see
They say that faith can find a Savior
If you would follow and believe
with faith like a child

General CommentI love this song- the lyrics are important to remember. It doesn't matter how serious and mature you are in your faith, everyone should remember to have faith like a child.

General CommentI agree with LJLBub. This is such a great song, one of my most favorites by Jars of Clay. If we all have faith like a child, I think we could gain so much more from life. The faith a child has is so simple, so innocent, and hasn't been clouded with all the evil in the world that we, as adults, are forced to watch go on around us. Though it's not always possible, we should try to have faith like a child as much as possible.

"Dear God, surround me as I speak,
the bridges that I walk across are weak"

when you turn away from God you are very likely to fall away from him completely. Your on a "weak bridge".

"Frustrations fill the void that I can't solely bear"

and the void in your heart that God should fill is only filled with frustration and confusion.

"Dear God, don't let me fall apart,
you've held me close to you
I have turned away and searched for answers I can't understand"

We turn away from God and seek other answers, but they are only more confusing, so we are lost. That is when we need to have faith like a child, no need to logically think it through and try to figure it all out because there's no way we could fully comprehend it, it's way above our heads. God knows exactly what he is doing and He knows a lot more than we do, so we just have to have unconditional faith.

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1
