A gaping wound tells the story of it all
A man lost only to find
What was left of his mind?
With no hope of a scar at all
You say, “Go slow”
But something’s right behind me
I can run away for only so long
It will not stop
I will come down
Oh no
Let me find my way
I’ll take you to the edge
Go across that window
And I’ll carry you there
Oh when nothing goes right
Oh when days don’t come tonight
Oh when all I see is the error of my own enemy
A man alone and cut and torn for it
His whole life friend after friend
They’re all a flash in the pan
With no hope of rejoice at all
Let me find my way
(Don’t be scared of what you might be thinking)
I’ll take you to the edge
Go across that window
And I’ll carry you....

Jews beleive jesus was a random prophet who was not important, they wouldn't write a song about him. I think this song is about an emotional wound and trying to be strong and independant while still being wounded.

Even though Michelob should have known that the Guster boys are Jewish, he may be partially right. I know that they sometimes purposely make some of their songs seem to be Christian just because they are Jewish. Maybe the song is about some random person who sacrificed himself for the good of others; if so, they could have worded it the way they did in order to show that they feel Jesus's acts were no different than any other man's acts. That's just a crazy guess though.

Songs can mean whatever you want them to. If you can find a meaning thats important to you, then let it be and share it in a way that doesnt bash everyone else. I find to be disturbingly ironic that every "Christian" that I have run into on this site, is calling someone names or having a very close-mind. So if you are one of the ones the says they love Jesus out there, you might want to try not bashing people. I don't think Jesus ever did that.

Gentle Hour
Yo La Tengo
This song was originally written by a guy called Peter Gutteridge. He was one of the founders of the "Dunedin Sound" a musical scene in the south of New Zealand in the early 80s. From there it was covered by "The Clean" one of the early bands of that scene (he had originally been a member of in it's early days, writing a couple of their best early songs). The Dunedin sound, and the Clean became popular on american college radio in the mid to late 80s. I guess Yo La Tengo heard that version. Great version of a great song,

Magical
Ed Sheeran
How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
