"Center Of Attention" as written by Ryan Miller, Adam S. Gardner and Brian A. Rosenworcel....
One of us
Won't last the night
Between you and me it's no surprise.
And there's two of us
Both can't be right
Neither will move till it's over.

I'm the center of attention
In the walls inside my head.
And no one will ever know it
If I keep my mouth shut tight.

My own little world
Is what I deserve
Cause I am the only child there is.
A king of it all
The belle of the ball
I promise I've always been like this.
Forever the first
My bubble can't burst
It's almost like only I exist.
Where everything's mine
If I can keep my mouth shut tight, tight, tight.

All by myself
I'm so much better on my own.
And way out there - oh oh oh
It is the same old place that it always has been.

I'm the center of attention
In the walls inside my head.
And no one will ever know it
If I keep my mouth shut tight, tight, tight.

My own little world
Is what I deserve
Cause I am the only child there is.
A king of it all
The belle of the ball
I promise I've always been like this.
Forever the first
My bubble can't burst
It's almost like only I exist.
Where everything's mine
If I can keep my mouth shut tight, tight, tight.

One of us
Won't last the night
Between you and me it's no surprise.
And there's two of us
Both can't be right
Neither will move till it's over.

I'm the center of attention
In the walls inside my head
And no one will ever know it
If I keep my mouth shut tight.

Yeah no one will ever notice
If I keep my mouth shut tight, tight, tight

My own little world
Is what I deserve
Cause I am the only child there is.
A king of it all
The belle of the ball
I promise I've always been like this.
Forever the first
My bubble can't burst
It's almost like only I exist.
Where everything's mine
If I can keep my mouth shut tight tight, tight.

General Commentthis song really reminds me of the catcher in the rye. how he's refering to himself as a child, he's in his on little world like how holden fabricates his own reality. also how he isolates himself by not talking and how he says he's much better on his own.
maybe. or it could be that i've just finished writing a paper on that catcher in the rye and its 2 am.

General Commenti love this song. Its so...typical guster. I think the meaning is something along the lines of him being a very selfish guy and he just cant commit to this girl..tho he tried but its coming to an end.

General CommentYes! I can relate to this because I am a spoiled only child and therefore have learned to be selfish when it comes to relationships. I true only-child anthem! Woohoo!

General Commenti really feel like this song is about more than just being the center of attention and just knowing the band it doesnt seem like they would write a song strictly about what the title implies. who are the two people? what kind of relationship do they seem to have? thats sort of what i'm stuck on, it seems they are either friends disagreeing on something or possibly two people fighting over someone. i think it might be about how when you think you're right about something NO one else can be right and its just you who's right. you block out any one else's ideas and are the "center of attention in the walls inside [your] head"

General CommentHe's making fun of someone by taking on the voice of someone he finds ridicolously selfish

General CommentYeah, I agree with sean2458, I got the impression that this was sort of satire on all the selfish, self-centered people out there.
