General CommentThis is a amazing song that really is a overlooked Pixies masterpiece. I think it's about simply just walking along a beach in Arizona enjoying life without worrying about money, jobs etc.

General CommentOne of, if not the most beautiful Pixies songs ever. I heard it was about chasing a pig through a forest with your girlfriend, but I could easily be wrong. A great song to fall asleep to, very peaceful.

General CommentIn arizona, the Javelina (a small warthog) is hunted for sport. I think he's referring to that animal in the song. Perhaps he is writing about living out in the wilderness as a Javelina.

General CommentThere aren't any large beaches in Arizona either. It's mostly desert and plains.

General CommentI love this song, it's so sweet and yet it's about these great smelly peccaries (not warthogs or pigs mind).

Somone on the net said you will smell them before you see them. i think Joey 'says' it at the beginning when his guitar turns dark and out of tune before the lyrics start. Everything is nice on the plains and then there is this funky smell...

Maybe the band just love them anyway :)
