"European Swallow" as written by and Brian David/clyne Blush....
Well I could see by the way that she danced with me
She want to break my heart
Want to tear it apart
Yeah and I could see by the way she dance with me
If I give her ten dollars I could get anything that I want
So what's a girl like you doing in a place like this
Lets forget that I asked won't you give me a kiss
So stop biting my fingernails
They're starting to bleed
Let's skip the formalities
And get down to what we're here for

I'll do anything for you
Anything that you want me to
It's just going to take
A little more money

Do anything for you
Anything that you want me to
It's just going to take
A little more money

So this big old guys comes up to me
And say's Skinny white boy
I don't like the way you look at my girlfriend
What an ugly thing to say
I say don't flatter yourself
I don't think that much of your girlfriend

So that big old guy socks me in the nose
I falls on my back and gets blood on my clothes
He say's Heah skinny white boy
What do you think about that
I says it doesn't change much
I still don't think much of you girlfriend

I'll do anything for you
Anything that you want me to
It's just going to take
A little more money

Do anything for you
Anything that you want me to
It's just going to take
A little more money

Well I could see by the way that she danced with me
She want to break my heart
Want to tear it apart
Yeah and I could see by the way she danced with me
If I give her ten dollars I could get anything that I want

' So what's a girl like you doing in a place like this
Lets forget that I asked won't you give me a kiss
So stop biting my fingernails
They're starting to bleed
Let's skip the formalities
And get down to what we're here for

I'll do anything for you
Anything that you want me to
It's just going to take
A little more money

Do anything for you
Anything that you want me to
It's just going to take
A little more money

General CommentI can't believe no one has commented on this song yet! Wow!

For starters, I think that there should be talking marks around the word girlfriend. That's the way I always imagined it. And then it puts it into a whole new light.

A girl, called "girlfriend", who would do anything for money? Hooker. All of their songs are about hookers and/or Mexico. Why should this be any different?

And I love this song. Just the way that they sing it, it's so funny. No one else ever gets it, but. They never see the humour...

General CommentYeah, I like the confrontation with the "big old guy"

He say's Heah skinny white boy
What do you think about that
I says it doesn't change much
I still don't think much of you girlfriend

I think the big guy doesn't approve or know about what his girlfriend does, and takes it out on her customers.

General CommentHalf the humor of this song is just the delivery, especially in the way he says "girlfriend," like iluvmybass pointed out. I can't even listen to it without cracking up. "Well, it doesn't change much, I still don't think that much of your GIRLFRIEND..." I especially love how the chorus starts out with a standard love song line ("I'd do anything for you") and then follows it up with, "It's just gonna take a little more money."

The title appears to be a reference to blowjobs and Monty Python. (A running gag in Holy Grail is the comparative strength of African vs. European swallows. And, of course, since the woman's a hooker and will do anything for money, that brings up the question of "spit or swallow.")
