"I Saw Her Again Last Night" as written by John Edmund Andrew Phillips and Dennis Doherty....
I saw her again last night
And you know that I shouldn't
To string her along's just not right
If I couldn't I wouldn't
But what can I do, I'm lonely too
And it makes me feel so good to know
You'll never leave me

I'm in way over my head
Now she thinks that I love her
Because that's what I said
Though I never think of her
But what can I do, I'm lonely too
And it makes me feel so good to know
You'll never leave me

Every time I see that girl
You know I want to lay down and die
But I really need that girl
Don't know why I'm livin' a lie
It makes me want to cry

I saw her again last night
And you know that I shouldn't
To string her along's just not right
If I couldn't I wouldn't
But what can I do, I'm lonely too
And it makes me feel so good to know
You'll never leave me

But what can I do, I'm lonely too
And it makes me feel so good to know
You'll never leave me

Every time I see that girl
You know I want to lay down and die
But I really need that girl
Don't know why I'm livin' a lie
It makes me want to cry

I saw her again last night
And you know that I shouldn't
To string her along's just not right
If I couldn't I wouldn't

I'm in way over my head
Now she thinks that I love her
Because that's what I said

General Commentactually Denny wrote this song about Michelle. He just wanted a fling with her, whereas she took their "relationship" more seriously than he did.

General CommentBtw, the part near the end of the song when Denny comes in too early with "I Saw Her" was a mistake! But it worked so well they left it in. John Lennon was amazed and could not believe it wasn't planned.

General Commentto correct laety, i was actually just watching a special on the mamas and the papas and it showed different interviews of the song: lumosnox90 is right... john found out the michelle and denny were having an affair so john made denny write the song with him and the punishment was that they each had to sing that song together on stage... and it actually ended the affair... go john... the man is brilliant

General CommentPretty much a very narcissistic and opportunistic view of a sexual relationship.

    My opinion, only.
