"I Do" as written by and Michael Jude Christodal....
I got a letter today
An invitation
And the writing looked like you
Hello how are you and by the way
Please RSVP I do

I thought of writing sad words of how it used to be
But I didn't want to bring you down, no
I guess the bells will ring pretty well there without me
Don't worry 'bout me baby I'll wear the thorny crown
I will play the clown

[Chorus:]
If you think that I don't love you, you're just wrong
And that don't matter now anyway
I couldn't bear to see you up there with a white dress on
Here's my vow to you
I'll stay away

I remember when in a lover's whisper you said
No other man would ever share your bed
Well we both know that's not been so
And I wish I'd never let you go now
You found a better man instead

I wish you health and wealth and a white house on a hill and I
I hope you raise a family
Little boy and a little girl, a little more joy in this little old world
Well, that'd be enough for me

[Chorus]
Time rolls on
And dreams they die
And I've thrown out the pictures I had of you and I
And if you're ever wondering if love can be true
Well, think of me and remember darling like I, like I do

Ole friendships fade away, love falls apart
And you've not spent a single day outside my heart
But, there's just one more dream that I have left for you
I hope you're smiling when he turns around and says I do. . .
I do
I do
I do
I do

General CommentIt's pretty obvious what this is about: his ex-girlfriend getting married. To me this is the saddest song in the world, I honestly cry everytime I hear. No other song makes me cry.

General CommentI totally agree w/ aj2828aj. The first time I heard this song I thought about my ex boyfriend, and how we were engaged, and now hes moved on...its so sad, but this song is really good

General Commentyea, this song is sad but i love it...i like the last few lines..."old friendships fade away, love falls apart, but you've not spent a single day outside my heart....i hope you're smiling when he turns around and says i do..." it's so cute...cause it's just like he's happy for her, even if it's not with him, and that shows he really does care about this girl....good song =)

General CommentThe three of you are all right...I think we all want the best for the people we truly love...it just hurts too much to see them get it without us. His song 'King of Yesterday' could easily be considered the sequel to 'I Do'. Even though she's found her new life he can't let go of what might have been...and still could be. Been there-doing that.

General CommentHe once told me: you write a song trying to come to terms with your pain, you end up having to play it every day for the rest of your life.

General CommentThat's the worst feeling in the world I think. My ex just got engaged and even though we have been broken up for a long time it still hurt. On some level I guess I just always assumed we would work out some day. This just made me feel like it was finally totally over. As much as you want the person you love to be happy you always wish it could be with you, sometimes it can't and that just sucks. But it is what it is and you still need to move on. At least that's what thins song means to me.

General CommentThis song makes me cry as well. It's such a sad song and the lyrics are beautiful! It's pretty obvious what it's about -- your ex moving on.

General CommentEvery time I hear this song (first time I heard it was on Dawson's Creek), I think of a friend of mine who doesn't know how I feel and how awful it will be if I have to watch them get married. It's a beautiful song though.
