"New Noise" as written by David Per Sandstrom, Dennis Lyxzen, Kristofer Steen and Jon Brannstrom....
Can I Scream?!
Can i??
We lack the motion
To move to the new beat.

Woo

We lack the motion
To move to the new beat.

It's here for us to admire
If we can afford the beauty of it.
Can afford the luxury of turning our heads.
(If we tried, if we tried, if we tried!)

Adjust the $1000 smile,
and behold the creation of man.
Great words won't cover ugly actions.
Good frames won't save bad paintings!

Woo!

We lack the motion
To move to the new beat.

Yeah!

We lack, motion

When the day is over,
(Hey!)
and the doors are locked on us.
'Cause money buys the access
and we can't pay the cost.

How can we expect anyone to listen,
If we using the same old voice.
We need New Noise.

New art for real people!

We dance to all the wrong songs.
We enjoy all the wrong moves.
We dance to all the wrong songs.
We're not, leading.

We dance to all the wrong songs.
We enjoy all the wrong moves.
We dance to all the wrong songs.
We're not
We're not
We're not
We're not
We're not
We're not

leading!

We dance to all the wrong songs.
We enjoy all the wrong moves.
We dance to all the wrong songs

We dance to all the wrong songs.
We enjoy all the wrong moves.
We dance to all the wrong songs

Here we go!

We dance to all the wrong songs.
We enjoy all the wrong moves.
We dance to all the wrong songs.
We're not, leading!

Yeah!
Yeah!
Yeah!

[Repeat: x16]
The new beat!

(Thank you.)

General CommentWhen did you all lose sight of the fact that the purpose of this site is to discus the meaning of song lyrics, and not to bash other people on their mispellings and opinions? This song is pretty straight forward in my opinion. I think it is advocating reform in both the music industry and world government. They are unhappy with the way things are. Too much enphasis is placed on appearances, on making money, not on making music. They are saying we are not ready to move forward. We are too immature if you will, to be able to recognize that we even need to move forward. "How ca we expect anyone to listen if we are using the same old voice? we need new noise, new art for the real people" If you try to spread your message in a way that appeals to the mainstream, you won't get you're message across, especially when that message is that mainstream sucks. You have to back up what you're saying with what you're doing. And that is exactly what Refused did.

    General CommentThey split up.

The reason Refused got over so big was because they played catchy music disguised as hardcore. I must admit, I love Refused, but I also admit that it's only because they're one of the catchiest bands out there playing music I love. Look at the Clash. Catchy rock music with punk views. This is also the same reason terrible bands like Rancid and all of these "nu-emo" bands get over.
Listen to the band Text. It has members from Refused, but it's so much more abstract and experimental.
